London Spy – BBCAmerica

This crime drama, created by New York Times best-selling author Tom Rob Smith, follows the emotional journey of a young man as he tries to find the truth behind his lover's death. Ordinary man Danny begins a romance with MI6 code genius Alex, and they share a happy relationship before it'is tragically cut short when the spy is mysteriously murdered. The suspicious death spurs Danny into investigating the circumstances that took place.
~ I am OBSESSED with this show. I haven’t liked a dram this much since Mr. Robot. The acting is insanely good and the story is heartbreaking and twisty.
It’s a mini series – just 5 episodes total so no dragging things out forever. Yay!

The Expanse – SyFy

Hundreds of years in the future, things are different than what we are used to after humans have colonized the solar system and Mars has become an independent military power. Rising tensions between Earth and Mars have put them on the brink of war. Against this backdrop, a hardened detective and a rogue ship's captain come together to investigate the case of a missing young woman. The investigation leads them on a race across the solar system that could expose the greatest conspiracy in human history.
~ This show is nearly as original or daring as the creators or SyFy seem to think it is – but it does get better with each episode and despite a rocky start – I found myself saying…just one more episode…until the season was done lol

Darrell Lea Soft Eating Liquorice

~ This stuff is addictive! It doesn’t taste anything like traditional licorice. It’s very soft and kind of doughy with a fruity tang.

Beau

~ I’m not sure why Beau ever bothers with a bed – maybe he needs a cushion for his butt lol I have bigger dog beds that he rarely uses. Both he and Indy prefer the cat cups. While Indy, almost twice Beau’s size, jams himself in – Beau does the doggie sprawl.

    1. It took about 4 episodes for me to even learn anyone's name. Not a ringing endorsement but it does get better - especially after ep 4.

      I rec London Spy!

  2. Oh, Beau, so adorable! Fortunately for our dog Pages, the cats are bigger than she is- although they are also more likely to chase her out of her doggie beds.

    1. Oh nooo Poor Page lol

I had just the one bed for Figment (the cat) but I ended up having to get two more cat beds for the dogs :-)

  3. LOL Beau would make for the cutest and most funny wallpaper. Too bad it's a small pic ;).

I didn't know you had such funny liquorice tastes in the U.S. I love liquorice (and kind of need it for my voice), but I stick with the real thing LOL. I don't even think we have other tastes than mint-flavoured liquorice or the likes. Don't quote me on that though.

    2. We're mostly all about the Twizzlers here - red & black. I found this at a smaller gourmet type grocery store.

  5. I love how BBC is all about short series, they understand that we can't dedicate hours to 20+ episodes! My husband may like this one.

    AND BEAU!

    1. Me too! I have zero patience with series that drag out for too long. 5 eps are perfect. Get to the point and give me a solid conclusion!

  7. I might have to check out London Spy. The commercials were intriguing and now you say it is good. :) Oh Beau! So cute. I had a pit who was about 60 lbs. and TRIED to fit into the kitty cup to sleep. So funny. Dogs... at least they put a smile on our faces.

  8. Aw, your dog is so cute!! My dog sleeps like a person - head on the pillow and everything! hah That licorice sounds amazing. I need some! London Spy seems really really good -and I like that it's only five episodes, so not too difficult to watch when you have the time. Yay, I'm glad to hear you like Strong Signal so far too. It's on my to-read on Goodreads. I need it!!

  9. Hi Karen! *waves*

I'm very interested in London Spy and The Expense. London Spy sounds a bit like Alias, which I loved. I'll have to search it out on cable or Netflix.

    Have a great weekend!

It's still showing on BBC America right now - it's on episode 3 but they usually go to Netflix pretty quickly after.

  11. That picture of Beau is ADORABLE! I just want to snuggle him. I can't wait to have a day to binge London Spy, especially after your obsession with it! And I liked The Expanse, which was pretty cool but, yeah, not quite as awesome or Battlestar Galactica-level as they promoted.
