Friday Fast 5! Tackling the TBR Review pile!

I’ve been super busy the past week adulting. Yard work - taxes, cleaning...

BOOOOO to adulting!

I really need to crack down on my reading. I don’t really request or accept many review books anymore but I’ve been bad about getting to the ones I did so this weeks Friday Fast 5 is about putting the list out there and hopefully motivating myself to get down to business!

Click on the covers for more info.

#1

Marked in Flesh (The Others, #4)

The Others by Ann Bishop is one of the few series that I still read and I was so excited to get approved months ago – yet I haven’t read it yet. This is the first one on the list because it comes out March 8th

#2

The Winner's Kiss (The Winner's Trilogy, #3)

I did a muppet flail when I got approved for The Winner’s Kiss. I thought there was zero chance in hell when I requested it but I did so I’m ready for my Kestrel and Arin HEA. Please oh please give them a HEA!

#3

Love in the Time of Murder (The Gray-Haired Knitting Detectives #3)

Now this one I accepted for review way back in October of 2015. I enjoyed the authors previous books in the series but this one isn’t grabbing me. The hero is pretty controlling – in a protective way – but he barely knows the heroine, who’s coming out of an abusive relationship, and it’s rubbing me the wrong way. I set it aside and I’ll get back to it and decide to either give the guy a chance of DNF

#4

Clutch: A Novel

Another *hangs head in blogger shame* book. I accepted this one for review last year. I really like Becker’s writing – but it was during the holidays when I had zero time to read and then my brain pushed it back down the list. I’m really looking forward to it so – hopefully this post will help me get to it SOON.

#5

Graffiti in Love (Love and Lawbreakers Book 1)

I just accepted this one for review a little while ago – so no shame – YET – lol But this will be my reminder. The books I’ve read by Andrew's so far, have been a hoot and quick reading.

So there! Hopefully I’ll  have books read and reviews to post soon.
What’s book has been neglected on your TBR shelf?

  1. Marked in Flesh FTW along with Winner's kiss . I was just so happy to simon and Meg. I adore the courtyard and Vlad and Tess.

  3. Ugh, adulting is the WORST. I wish I didn't have to do it ever, basically. And I am just like, part flailing on your behalf over The Winner's Kiss, part rocking back and forth because I am scared, and yes, part green with envy ;) I really hope it is amazing!!

    1. It really is. Like why can't I just sit and read all day????

It's up on Netgalley. Have you requested it? I'm stunned I even got approved. I requested it fully expecting to be rejected.

  4. I'm failing at adulting lately. There are so many things I can't keep up with, I've basically started neglecting more and more of them...Thank godness I don't have a yard. It would become a jungle in a week LOL.

Wow, so The Others is a 5 book series? (so far...).

  6. Adulting sucks. *sticks out tongue* You can see I have adulting down... ;)

I so need to start the Bishop series. I'm determined to get to it this year (at least the first book). I still need to read/listen to the Rutkoski series. I read the first book but haven't gotten to the second. I might put it off more if no HEA. I needs me an HEA.

    Have a non-adult weekend!

    1. I REALLY think you would like The Others series.

If I were you I would read The Winner's Curse series together. It's very intense with cliffies.

  7. Adulting is the worst! Love this post though - it's such a nice idea :) I have too many books I've been putting off and I don't want to even think about it! ;) The cover for the Winner's Kiss looks amazing!

  8. It's so hard to get to all the books we want to read. And I get distracted- by library books, or friend's books, or other books on my shelf... I like the idea of posting about it though, at least the books get some coverage and serve as a reminder of what you're trying to get to!

    1. I've cut WAY back on review books and that's helped but somehow the few I have taken have slipped through the cracks and piled up anyway.

  10. The Winner's Kiss better be everything we want, and more! Although I haven't seen a single negative review for it, so I think we're safe!

And I agree with the adulting. I adulted WAY to hard this week. Still gotta do taxes. Your a better adulter than me.

  11. Oh I have tons of books in my TBR; most aren't review books though, so that's good. I do have a bit to read through Netgalley however, so I need to get on it! haha
