Better Know A Blogger: Brooke - Brooke Reports

I met Brooke during the Shift blog tour I hosted for Jeri Smith-Ready back in May. She sent me a link to her blog, I went to investigate - fell in love with Brooke and her reviews and tweeted the heck out it.
Um.....one problem......Her blog had not gone live yet. She didn't want anyone to know about it, she was still testing the waters and just wanted my opinion.
Oh man did I feel like poop on the bottom of someone's shoe. I begged for forgiveness.
Luckily Brooke did not end up hating me and even ended up thanking me for pushing her out into the wonderful world of blogging.
She had absolutely nothing to worry about! Her blog is fantastic!
Once you're done reading this interview head on over to check out Brooke Reports. And not just the reviews....nooooo - read everything. The "About Me", her "Review Poilcy", the "Contact Page".
If you don't fall in love with this girl you have a cold, dead heart. Just sayin.
She reminds me of what blogging is all about - FUN & sharing our love of books!

Here's Brooke!

Introduce yourself! Helllllloooo! I’m Brooke and I’m a reading addict. Wait….this… isn’t book buyers anonymous!? :P
What is the name of your blog? How did you pick your blog’s name? Brooke Reports! And picking the name for my blog was a process! At first I wanted it to be called “Dysfunctional Diaries” but that just didn’t feel right. So then I thought, “What about something extremely cute? How bout Frizzy Freckles!?” <-- that was a little too cute. Finally I settled on “The Giddy Whisk!” I told my best friend and she said, “Aw! That’s adorable, it’s going to be a cooking blog!?” Crap. In fact it was NOT going to be a cooking blog….so she suggested “Brooke Reports” and the rest is history!!

Karen: I love you Brooke - but - "The Giddy Whisk"?? What does that have to do with books? LOL

How long have you been blogging? I’ve been blogging since April, so only about 5 months! (and it’s been the best 5 months of my life! No joke!)

How do you measure blogging success? Is it strictly number of followers or something more? Hmm, good question! I think at the end of the day, the number of followers you have is just that, a number. If your blog can make me smile, laugh and shake my head in agreement, in my opinion, it’s a success!

What genres/subgenres do you review, and what do you like best about those genres? Young Adult is the only genre for me! EEEEEP! I love it some much! It’s angsty and fun and cool and hilarious and sad and emotional and romantical and shmexy and relatable. For me it’s an absolute escape, there’s so much imagery and unquieness packed into each and every YA book that I don’t think I could ever get sick of it! Plussss, there’s usually a cute boy, and that’s always a plus! :)

Karen: I must in some way convince you to read WIcked Game by Jeri Smith-Ready even though it's Adult. What can I do to get you to read this book???

What are you reading right now? I’m actually kinda in a slump right now! I’ve started like 4 books but can’t really get into them. I blame the awesomeness that was Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey! (I finished it like a week ago and am still swooning over it!)

Do you use social media to promote your blog or discuss reading/blogging?
TWITTER!! AAAAH! Twitter is my life! I can hardly remember my life without it! Oh jeez, I would miss so many amazing things if it weren’t for my unhealthy obsession with twitter! I’m thinking of making some T-shirts that say, “Crazy Good Shit, Goes Down on the Twit!” <-- lemme know if you’re interested in getting one! :P
I stalk Goodreads frequently as well!

Where is your favorite place to read? In a big cushy pile of pillows! Or outside on my front porch!

What are your ideal reading conditions? Bright and quiet!

What are the top 5 books in your TBR (To Be read) pile?
Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young
Sweetly by Jackson Pearce
Dark Parties by Sara Grant

Obligatory controversial question: Love triangles! Love ‘em or hate ‘em, and why? Oh SNAP! I have a love/hate relationship with the triangle! I love ‘em when my team wins, and I hate ‘em when my team loses. But if they’re done just right… they can add such angst and tension to the story and I like when that happens!

What has been the best thing about blogging and reviewing books? Meeting my soul mate Karen! Haha! Besides that, the best thing is being able to fan-girl about books I love with other people who feel the same way! Everyone has been so welcoming (especially my pimp, Karen!) and nice and FUNNY! People in the blogosphere are funny! And so far, it’s just been a really awesome experience!

Karen: Good answer -lol

Thanks for stopping by Brooke! A picture for you.... (we kind of have a kitten picture thing going on - don't ask)
