  1. Hello, thank you very much for this giveaway.

    Mi mail: noemisapi@gmail.com

I think that Peeta will die or something similar, maybe seriously wounded. Yes, I am a little dramathic hahaha but this is great final.

  2. Yeah Peeta! Woo!

I actually have given much thought about how the book will end (other than the romance angle, which I've spent WAY too much time debating). Part of what I've loved about the first book is that there's so much that I didn't see coming, and yet, in hindsight, of COURSE that's the way it unfolded. I can only hope that continues in Book 3!

I do hope that both boys make it through alive. I like that this series kills people off left and right (take that, folks who say you can't kill people in YA!) but I think it'd be a real shame if Peeta or Gale kicks it. It's probably pretty likely, but I think it'll be difficult to do in a way that isn't just getting cheap drama.

Oh, what am I even saying? Whatever happens it's going to be AWESOME.

  3. I am TEAM PEETA all the way, but i am afraid that he will die and Gale too. Katniss will succeed in taking down the capital only to lose everyone she ever loved :(

  4. I haven't read The Hunger Games yet, so I don't know. However, I'd like for most things to be tied up . . . but maybe some little inkling of mystery or hope at the end. Yeah, call me weird. I don't like endings that end everything.

  6. I want President Snow to die a bloody horrible death made up by the game makers and Katniss to get a clue and figure out that Peeta will love her forever, if he's around...

  7. This series is so unpredictable so it's hard to think about what will happen. But,I have a feeling that Katniss will triumph over the Capitol, although many of those close to her will not live (my guesses are Peeta and Haymitch will die D: )

  9. I am afraid to read this book. I don't want Peeta to die. I think the capital is overthrown and Freedom is won. There will be death, I'm thinking Gales family is dead, possibly Finnick and Joanna will die and another main cahracter.

    I wanna win!!!

  12. I haven't read the ending of the trilogy yet - but I'm guessing that Katniss will end up choosing, and the chosen boy will end up dying. Then she'll end up together with someone she at least loves.

  14. I'd want the trilogy to end with the assured disintegration of that crazy dystopian government and a hint of what the rest of the world is like and the districts rebuilding after all that slavery/marginalisation. As for what happens to the main characters - I want to be shocked :)

  15. Amazing Giveaway! Thanks fro making this international.

How I hope this will end is, obviously, with the rebellion winning. I don't thing Katniss will be the new leader, but she'll be one of the main intervienents and surely the one to whom the people will look up to. Also, I really hope we have a grand finale with the Capitol being destroyed and Katniss finaly figuring out whom she chooses (hoping it's Gale, but more convinced it will be Peeta). Of course I hope Peeta will live.

  16. I hope there will be a happy ending with Peeta and Katniss but I fear Gale and Peeta will die to let Katniss taking down the capital:(

  20. I always love the happy and complete ending. After I read and loved Hunger Games, I was upset at the books failure to conclude. As a result, my son warned me not to read Catching Fire until right before Mocking Jay comes out. I'm currently reading book two so am not up on predictions yet. Still, I would love to win these books. I don't own books one or three. My dog read book two and the cover is a bit shredded, but it's still readable.

My prediction for Mockingjay is that the Capital will go down in flames. Katniss wil change every district and person. She will be someone that people will still be talking about decades later. I hope she will end up with Peeta, but that seems very unlikely, with the Capital and all.

  28. I'm not sure how I want the trilogy to end, other than wanting them to get revenge and break free from the tyranny of the government, and to have the districts no longer segregated but mingling and trading as one.

  32. I think the Rebels will defeat the Capitol in the end but it won’t be a clean conclusion. There will still be a long way to go after that, to make things better for everyone.
I'm hoping maybe we’ll find out that Katniss’ and/or Gale’s dad is still alive.
Also, Katniss will end up with Peeta (:

  33. I'd like Mockingjay to end with something totally unexpected like Katniss must finally choose between Peeta and Gail and whoever she doesn't pick dies... I know that would be a really bad ending because everyone loves them both :) but I am pretty certain that one of the main characters (Probablly either Peeta or Gail) will die and that Katniss will be shattered by it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. For me, the ideal ending would be for the Capitol to be taken down, and Katniss and Gale to be together. Preferably President Snow would meet a horrible demise too!

  36. Well I hope that President Snow dies (of course) and Peeta and Katniss live happily ever after WITHOUT "smexy" Gale in the way. Ugh. Besides that, I'd like her to go in the arena (aka the Capitol) and save Peeta/ Johanna etc... then throw Pres Snow into the stupid arena!!!! Muahahahahaha!!! And then all the past winners can go and take a stab at him!!! (I'm sorry, is that too gory? :D) Oh, and then maybe Katniss could find her Dad! Who might still be alive in District 13, plotting revenge at the Capitol.

Wow. I can't believe I just wrote all that. I actually would rather be surprised at how it ends than guess it correctly. I hope it's good!!!! Wait, scratch that, it IS going to be good!!! :)

Anyways I still didn't read "Catching Fire" yet but I love this series! In Mockingjay I think Katniss and Peeta will be together and Gale and Katniss can stay friends. Who knows maybe Gale might end up with Madge. I also have a feeling that the Capitol will be taken down. I really want this book to surprise me! Maybe someone dies in the book, like Peeta or Gale. But hopefully that won't happen :P But in the end I really really want Peeta and Katniss to be together! :) Team Peeta <3

  45. Oh, this is too hard. I seriously have no idea how this book is going to end, all I can say is that I hope Peeta and Katniss will both survive and fall in love. Maybe they'll succeed in forming and resistance and destroy the Capitol so there will be no more Games.

  53. I've always thought that it would end with Katnis going to that district that was supposedly blown up (district 13?). Finding rebels and Katnis leading a rebellion against the government.

    echs2007@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  54. I hope I'm not ruining anyone's day by saying that I think Katniss's and Gale's fathers could still be alive. In Catching Fire, Katniss met Twill and Bonnie who escaped an "accidental" explosion. Well, six years ago, their was an "accidental" explosion in Distrist 12 and why shouldn't some miners, including the fathers, escape? Ripper was smart enough to get out alive from the explosion, but with one arm sadly. So what I'm saying is...there is a lot of secrecy hidden from Katniss that goes for the cause of bringing down the damn Capitol.
I hope that President Snow will be revealed as he really is to his precious Capitol. Every district can see what he really is, how can the Capitol be so ignorant? Maybe because of fear. The fear of how much power one old man has.
District 13 could have all these rebels and have been waiting for the right moment, Katniss's scheme of rebelling with the berries, and with a strong person as Katniss as their motivator, then the plan will act out.

I am proud to say that I am on Team Gale. Peeta ices cakes for a living, sissy pastry jobs. But what does Gale do? He provides food from hunting and understands Katniss more than anyone since they had their fathers killed at the same time, and both Katniss and Gale grew up in the Seam. So why wouldnt they end up together....they complete each other. They've been with each other almost their whole lives and why not spend the rest of their lives together? In Catching Fire, they're already together in a hovercraft with Haymitch, so...what are the chances with Katniss and Peeta at that moment? Looks like Gale's going to be getting some since it's his turn and he deserves it. (Reminds me of The Office romance of Pam and Jim. They were made for each other and they should be together.)
It's predictable that the government is going down...or is going to change for the good of Panem's people. Because that's what is needed for Panem as we do today, a fair and just government for the people, no corruption because in the end, it brings everyone down.

    Thanks!

  62. I have to be truthfully honest I think, Katniss' and Gale's dads are still alive and faked their death to secretly travel to District 13 and start the rebellion. I think Cinna and Gale might die, but in a very heroic fighting way. I do not want to make it end "happily ever after" but I do want it to end on a good note, but not fairytale happy like the rebels won and Peeta is all okay "the end." I really hope I don't get disappointed, but I can't wait for Mockingjay!!

  65. Very nice giveaway!

I haven't read Mockingjay, but I hope it'll be something like this: Peeta finds himself a really nice girl (with plans to live happily ever after) and Gale shows himself to be the ultimate hero, maybe in another Hunger Games competition. Katniss may not choose either of them and go her own way.

  68. ZOMG, thank you so much for this giveaway!

I haven't read Mickingjay yet but I just KNOW I will cry at some point.

Ummm, I think the romantic young person in me desperately wants Katniss to find Peeta, still alive and well. I realise this is so unlikey but I can hope.

I want them to get the chance at a normal(ish) life. Also it would be cool if they found District 13 and defeated the Capitol.

    I don't ask for much, really ;)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wow. I don't really know how I want the series to end. I usually leave that up to the author. BUT, I do have a condition for a GOOD ending. And that is that Peeta is returned to his rightful position next to Katniss. Yeah. They should be together. I don't want anything less for them.

Oh, I almost forgot. This time I want KATNISS to fight for PEETA, not the other way around. Or maybe they can fight for eachother. Yeah, I bet that would be good.

I'm babbling, I know. Sorry. Team Peeta all the way!

  73. This is a REALLY awesome contest! I've been dying to read Mockingjay since I finished Catching Fire last week (I know, I was probably the last person on the planet to read it).

I'm kind of hoping (and wouldn't be surprised if) it has a sort of bittersweet ending. You know, a few people die heroically, but the good guys win and rebuild Panem into somewhere people actually want to live. I definitely want a horrible, gruesome, painful death for President Snow. It's just what he deserves.

I want that ridiculous government down, President Snow to be left to survive on his own in the darkest woods of Panem, lots and lots -really, LOTS- of food for everybody, Peeta as the new President, and Katniss and Gale together as a couple. Oh and I don't want it, but I have a feeling Haymitch is going to die protecting everybody.

    jen7waters(at)gmail(dot)com

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hmm, I believe that Panem's government will most likely fall and that Katniss will wind up alone (she just doesn't seem like she'll be able to pick between Gale or Peeta). And either Gale or Peeta is going to die. ^_^

  79. Personally, I'm hoping for an exciting, but happy ending. Unfortunately, I think that there will be a lot of sorrow in this book (main characters could die, many districts might be destroyed, and many innocent people could be injured or killed) but that the eventual ending will be a cheerful one- the rebels will win, and a new and peaceful era will begin in Katniss' world.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I would like the trilogy to end with Katniss dying. I'm really afraid that this will happen in Mockingjay, but I genuinely think that this is the way to go. The two guys, Peeta and Gale can go on thinking that she loved them and would have chosen them. Because let's face it, she loves them both and for her to choose one over the other is cruel. Katniss will die, but she'll live on as the symbol of rebellion; the rallying point of everything good. Peeta and Gale will live, and her memory will forever be alive within them. I would like a future chapter like they did in Harry Potter. Gale and Peeta are respectively married and have kids/grandkids. To their kids/grandkids, they would tell the story of Katniss Everdeen, the Girl on Fire.

  81. I think the series will end with an uprising of all the districts. Katniss is obviously at the head of it, though maybe a little unwillingly, and there's going to be a lot of death. I can only imagine that some characters we truly care about are going to bite the dust. I'm not one for overly happy endings, so I think there needs to be a lot of sacrifice for the government and President Snow to go down and I have a feeling that Suzanne Collins will deliver that.

  93. I've heard Collins compare her series to Greek myth with Katniss playing the roll of Spartacus, who, BTW, DIES, so I'll do the same. I think they'll manage to cut the head off the dragon (i.e. kill Pres. Snow) but it'll grow back ten times worse and with fangs, ala Hercules and the Hydra. Not very happy, but how can this story possibly end well?
I have one more theory! It just came to me, too! District 13 rebelled and is independent! The Capitol concocted a huge lie and spread it around that the rebellion was failed and that D13 is no more, but wouldn't it be awesome if it was actually free?! In that case, I think that it will impossible for them to bring down the Capitol in so short a time, sooo I think that they'll escape to D13 and Panem will eventually colapse on its own from the inside because the citizens of the Capitol will have had the wool removed from before their eyes and they'll stand up against Pres. Snow. I think it's be cool if the pampered citizens took their own Capitol down on behalf of the downtrodden Districts.

Something revolutionary that changes the whole scape of YA right now. I think Collins has the talent, and she will show us something so truly amazing that the Hunger Games trilogy is going to be discussed for Literature in school. HAH.

  150. I want all the key players to go out in a blaze of glory, finally inspiring District-wide mass revolts. Chaos! Armageddon! Is that too much to ask?

  152. I'd love to enter the contest, but I have to confess -- I haven't read any of the books from the Hunger Games trilogy!! (Which is why I'd love to win the boxed set!) I am a huge of fan of the bittersweet, something that makes my chest a bit achy, so here's hoping that's how the series ends! :)

  163. Had to avoid these comments until now out of fear of spoilers. I finished reading the book last night and couldn't contain my tears. The ending was depressing and fitting and beautiful all at once.

  164. I haven't finished Mockingjay yet, but I hope it ends with Katniss finding her father is alive and overthrowing the Capitol and everyone lives happily ever after...not so likely in a dystopian fic, but wouldn't it be nice

  165. I don't actually know how I want it to end... I mean, I want it to be good, and at Collin's way, but I don't know... I guess the only thing I can say is: REVOLUTION!!!

  167. I just finished the book, and while I am mildly shell-shocked and devastated, I feel like the end made complete sense with the rest of the series. If everything tied up too neatly, it would seem wrong and out of place.

  170. I haven't read this series yet. I have been watching all of the buzz going on since Mokingjay ie being released. The more I read/hear, the more it looks like a series I need to read. I would love to win copies...or I will most likely end up buying all 3 books at once, then sit down and read (consume?) the series.

  179. What an AMAZING contest!

I've read the ending so many times it's like a reel of film playing over and over! I have to say the ending was "satisfying." certainly not what I expected, and everybody felt out of character. Nonetheless, it was a thrilling adventure, but not without pain and loss.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I just finished reading Mockingjay. (Thank you, public library!) I have to say that I really liked how the trilogy ended. I was shocked by the battles, especially the happenings on the streets of the capital. I didn't think Collins could top the horrors of the arena but she managed it. I like that everything doesn't end up pretty and perfect. Katniss is a flawed character. This makes her more realistic and enjoyable to read about. It also makes a perfect happy ending hard to swallow. I'm glad that Collins didn't tack an overly happy ending onto this series. It would have felt wrong after the horrors of the novels.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I already read it :)
When I read Catching Fire, I thought that the story in Mockingjay will develop a little different, but when I started reading Mockingjay, I realised that it'll be much different then I thought before & after I realised how the story will develop, it ended just as I expected & it was good & wrapped up the trilogy as it should, so yeah, I liked the ending!

    Thanks for the giveaway :)

  182. I liked the ending. There were a few things I wanted to know (that I won't list here because I don't want to spoil it for anyone) But I get to find out how life happens for the characters and am happy for them. This is a book that makes you think about your roll in humanity and country. Something we probably should think about more.

  183. I haven't yet read this series, but I'm not a very demanding reader. As long as Katniss doesn't die at the end, I will be satisfied:)

  184. I keep thinking back to the statement Peeta made about the effect Katniss has on people. Is this what drew him to her initially?
Anyway, I'd like to see some 'favored' districts having to taste a little hunger here and there, and perhaps a little horror in real life instead of just cheering it on via live feed.
