Friday Fast Five…

#1

Image result for x-files

I’m kind of stunned at the lack of chemistry between these two in this re-boot. And they’re both soooooo miserable. ALL THE TIME. I got a brief glimpse of the old team in *Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster* but overall I’m kinda bored. Is it just me?

I finished my second 5k for February!
Before you get too proud of me – I walk – not run it.
(bad knees and mild asthma)

The Law of Attraction
(Click on cover to go to Goodreads page)

When a professional relationship turns personal, it’s impossible to resist the law of attraction.
(M/M)

Smart and smoking hot!
I loved that the characters (especially Ed) didn't compromise on the things that were important to them. Really well done.
I need to see what else this author has written stat!

The Winner's Kiss (The Winner's Trilogy, #3)

I’m hearing really positive things about the third, and last, book of The Winner’s Trilogy so I went ahead and pre-ordered The Winner’s Kiss.
I hear it’s pretty intense and tissues will be needed! EEP!

  1. I've stayed away from the new X-Files for now, simply because I haven't watched the last couple of seasons and wanted to do that before hand. Sad they don't have as much chemistry, but it has been so many years!

And congrats on doing a 5k! I don't have great knees either, and I am all for walking a 5k!

I am so excited for The Winner's Kiss- although I'll probably need to take a sinus headache med to deal with all the stuffy nose and swollen eyes from the crying...

    1. It has been a long time but man it was hard to watch at first. They're supposed to have all this history together and they looked like they were phoning it in. It is getting better though.

  2. I forgot that the X-Files was even on. That shocking that their chemistry is off. I guess it has been what, 15 years? 10 years? I have no concept of time.

And congrats again on your 5K (I'm mostly jealous that it's that warm outside)!!

    1. Ha! It was warm. Warmer than you I'm sure but we've been in the 20-30's at night for weeks now.

  5. I'm sad about the X-Files. I was hearing good things, but haven't caught it yet. I'm thinking I will feel the same way if they are lackluster like that. Congraties on the 5k! That is awesomesauce. You rock it! I also need to read the Winner's Curse Trilogy. I read the first and loved it and now need to read the rest.

    and...

    KITTY! :D

    1. The first episode was PAINFUL to watch but each one has gotten a little better. #3 was just like old times.

Hold on book #2 until #3 is coming soon. Not a cliffie exactly but you'll want the next book right away.

    1. lol I know - he looked so prim and proper there.

I tried a very slow jog but between my knees, back and asthma it's walking for me.

I think you would like Law of Attraction Laura.

  8. Congrats on your 5K!!! I'm a walker, too - also bad knees, so it's nice seeing another walker here :) I've only done 1 so far this month and it was in the gym on the treadmill - it's been really cold by me this month - today it's below 0! I'm hoping to get in a 10K, but thinking it will either be at the gym or at the mall - I like going to our local mall to walk sometimes, just to change things up.

    Have a great week!

    1. *high five* to those of us with bad knees lol

Winter is my outdoor activity time since I'm in FL. I can't do much in the heat of the summer here.

Sounds like you've found great places to get your walks int hough.

  10. Ha - I only watched the original X-Files sporadically. Then I got one of my kids to sit down and watch season one with me. The verdict? Cheesy. But I did love the chemistry between the two of them....
