Resisting her brother’s best friend is futile…

Faith Fitzpatrick isn’t looking for a hero. Burned one too many times in the past, she’s now sworn them off completely. And when her brother’s best friend, Connor, convinces him to join the dangerous SWAT team, Faith has never been more anti-hero. What’s wrong with having a safe job? There’s nothing safe about Connor. Confident, sexy, and sporting a six-pack that should be illegal, he’s everything she doesn’t want.

When his best friend’s sister moves to town, local cop Connor Maguire knows he’s in trouble. Faith is feisty, funny, and talks trash like nobody’s business. She’s also his partner’s sister—and so totally off limits. Working on the Fall Festival together, they agree to a truce and become friends. But the more time Connor spends with Faith, the more he’s willing to risk the wrath of her brother. If he could only convince her to take a risk on him, too.

What’s a little fake engagement between best friends?

Danielle and Wes have been best friends since college, so when Wes needs a date for his sister’s wedding and Dani needs a partner for her company’s retreat, they devise the perfect plan: a fake engagement to get through both events unscathed.

Adrenaline-junkie Wes can prove to both his ex and his family that he’s well and truly moved on, and serious-minded Dani can prove to her boss that she’s worthy of the promotion he seems to only want to give to a family-oriented employee. But amid the fake swoons, fake kisses, and forced proximity, neither expects the very real feelings that develop. There’s nothing more dangerous than falling for your best friend…but what if the landing is worth the fall?

577677_464376643589441_1701567720_nAbout Cindi Cindi Madsen sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children. She is the author of YA novels All the Broken Pieces and Demons of the Sun, adult contemporary romances Falling for Her Fiancé and Act Like You love Me, and the women's fiction novel Cinderella Screwed Me Over. 1. These look like so much fun to read! I need to read more romance this year, so I'll check these out!

  2. I don't read nearly as much romance as I'd like, perhaps because I find them so incredibly difficult to review. But I've read a few Bliss titles and I liked them all.

    1. I've only read one book from that line that I didn't enjoy. They're always just what I need for something between the darker stuff.

  3. I enjoy those falling-for-the-brother's-best-friend stories, so I will be on the lookout for your review tomorrow! You haven't steered me wrong yet--I just read all the Curio books in 24 hours and they were AMAZING. Thank you for the rec.

    1. Cindi's books are a lot of fun and surprisingly sexy for fade to black. Rachel Harris is another Bliss author that I enjoy.

You cannot imagine how happy you've made me about the Curio series! I know some of that is hardcore but she writes it SO well.

    2. I know this is a surprise to people who are used to my sunshiney YA persona, but I've been around the block a few times...very little shocks me. ;) And her writing is excellent!

    3. I think it's one of those genres that even if you enjoy it there are different comfort levels. She's one of the few authors that pushes me waaaay past my comfort zone and I still love it.

    4. That's very true. I've only read the Curio books and one other one, and even though I've read erotica pretty widely over the years, there's an intensity and commitment and go-for-broke quality in some of her bedroom scenarios that I really haven't encountered anywhere else in quite the same way.

    1. Almost anything from the Bliss line is good for a fun romance.

  5. I do usually enjoy the contemp romance although I don't read enough of it. Might have to check these out.
