Sunday Ramblings…

(commence odd blog search results….now)

I would love to have a little reading/napping area like this. What I like about this photo is that it seems within the realm of possibility too. Of course it wouldn’t be as pretty or designer as in this photo but a trundle bed with drawers could be used to store books. You could always add overhead shelving.

Blog ramblings….I finally started using Windows Live Writer to format my posts. Bloggers have told me to try it for years now but I resisted. I have a Mac so it is a little more complicated (you have to also run Parallels Desktop for Mac – which my DH just got for free) but it has made blogging SO much easier! I’m still finding my way around and exploring all the Plug-ins but it has already improved my blogging experience 100%! It’s FREE too so go check it out if writing posts wants make you gouge your eyes out.

On to the wrap-up!

Reviews:
When the Sea is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen – this book didn’t work for me but fans of fantasy should check it out.
Devil's Luck by Carolyn Crane – I’m officially a Carolyn Crane fan girl now. Fair warning – my reviews for her books are basically gushing.

Memes & Features:
Book Blogger Confessions – This week was about the positive side of blogging! Yes, there really is a positive side. We wouldn’t be doing it otherwise and it was great to read everyone’s responses.

  3. I haven't used Windows Live Writer because I have a Mac, though everyone keeps telling me about it. Thanks for the link to that Parallels thing. I'll look into it.

  4. I love xkcd it cracks me up and sucks up so much time xD. And now I am going to check out your review for The Sea is Rising Red because I had no interest in this book whatsoever but I AM a fantasy fan and must now pay attention to it.

Oh I also tested the Live Writer this weekend and I was surprised by how EASY it was. A review I read said it was not worth the hassle but maybe they had a Mac because I don't know what they were talking about. I think my favourite part was adding pictures, now I can just copy and paste and it won't take up a truck load of memory and my only issue was that the margins were very large making the post section quite narrow in the live writer itself but all I had to do was preview and my worries were over. Previewing is AWESOME!

  6. OMG, I need a bed like that! Plus, it would keep me from losing shoes underneath it...

  7. Swoon worthy pic you've got up there. Sigh if only it had a kitchen and loo all in the same area - we would never need to leave.

  8. That bed is amazing- I'll buy you one if I ever become rich!

And I might try Window Live Writer, but I'm lazy and am only now really getting around to checking up on blogs and their posts!

(And I just spent 10 minutes on that site. Thanks...)

  9. That is such a cool idea for a reading space, though I'd have lots of trouble reaching the top shelf :p
