For What It's Worth

That's a Wrap(up)

Another week of movies but very little reading...

I thought the new Matrix movie looked interesting but I've never seen the original trilogy so we binge watched that.

I liked the first one a lot. I thought it would be weird and trippy and mostly go over my head but it didn't.
I did not like the 2nd, Matrix: Reloaded at all. I liked the 3rd, Matrix: Revolutions more but didn't love it.
I'm still looking forward tot he new one since I have HBOMax anyway.

πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

You Make It Feel Like Christmas (Lifetime) - Not bad. I liked the story and  (2nd chance)couple but it was slower paced and a little sad. It was her first Christmas without her mom and she had a strained relationship with her dad. But a 2nd chance romance and HEA, of course, so it does come together.

A Very Merry Bridesmaid (Hallmark) - Liked this one! Best friends little sister trope and the guy was a CUTIE!! Dear Hallmark - you may start adding him into the rotation of leading men so he can fall in love and marry 1000 different women lol

The Santa Stakeout (Hallmark) - Good actors and an original plot - 2 detectives, that do NOT get along, are forced to work together after a string of burglaries by "Santa". Didn't really feel their chemistry and they were horrible detectives lol I also think they could have been sued for damages for some of the things they pulled. But of course it's Hallmark and they'll get a promotion 😜

I read All Through the House and started Must Love Christmas for my holiday reads. ATtH was short and sweet but you really have to have read the couples full length story Play On first in my opinion.

I beta read a very early version of Must Love Christmas but it was heavily edited since then and I wanted to read the finished version.

Other than that, I'm not reading much - per usual.

Life...

Ripley finished her second round of reactive dog class. She's doing a lot better around other dogs but is still scared. I signed her up to repeat the course in March. It's a fun class since we play games the whole hour and it's a safe place to get over her fears.

Almost all my gifts have been shipped except 2 because I'm waiting on an order that I didn't realize was coming from CA.

We're going to a holiday bazaar this weekend with all local businesses including crafters and food. I am not a holiday person but I love the season out here. It's more about traditions (many are free!) and staying local over SHOP, SHOP, SPEND $$$$, SHOP.

The weather has been cold and wet and I hate it. I'm trying to put a positive spin on it and try different teas, use my fireplace and cook comfort foods but UGH.

It's my blogoversary!!

Well, it was December 15th and I've been blogging for THIRTEEN YEARS.

Can you believe it??? This probably explains why I'm having an off year. That's a long time to do anything lol

Welp, that's it for now. I hope you're all doing well or at least hanging in there - I know this can be a tough time of year for some. {{hugs}}

Some of the Matrix movies are better than the others but I'm still looking forward to the new one.

  4. Thirteen years! Holy moly. That's an accomplishment. I bought like two Christmas gifts total this year. I'm giving a lot of checks. Sounds cozy, tea and the fireplace. I could enjoy that.

    1. I'm trying to remember that it's been THIRTEEN YEARS when I'm feeling so sluggish this year about reading and blogging. It's a long time to be doing anything, never mind at the pace I did it for so long.

I need to scale down my shipping next year.

  5. Happy Thirteen! You're a teenage now so act your age. :)

Did you know the creators of the Matrix movies were brothers when they started and are now sisters? Both transitioned (MTF).

    1. Thank you! Does this mean I can be temperamental for a few years?? lol

I did! And I think Lily was not involved with this one. Just Lana.

  6. Yay Matrix! I don't know anyone who liked 2 and 3, but the first one is a masterpiece! I can't wait to see the new one. Happy thirteen years! That's amazing!

  7. Wow, happy blogversary! That is a loooooong time. You more than deserve an off year. You also deserve a medal. πŸŽ–

We have a Christmas festival at a local park with carousel rides, horse drawn carriage and tractor-pulled hayrides, with music and food vendors, but I'm still not feeling safe enough because of my age, so I skipped it again this year... as well as the community center's party for the kids. I have my fingers crossed for next year. πŸŽ„

    Have a wonderful pre-holiday week. 🎁

    1. We've been picky about where we go. If it's indoors we go to vax only places when they first open and I'm out of there by the time people start pouring in. And a lot of outdoor things which is getting harder with our winter weather. It's not foolproof but I'm also trying to support these poor small businesses.

My MIL is immunocompromised so it's tougher so I get that too.

  8. I've only ever seen the first one (Matrix).

I think we're going to trey Love Hard (I think you rec'd it) although I've been told we're watching Home Alone on Christmas Eve at some point (my mom's coming over and she loves it). Ha sounds like you've been soaking up the holiday movies :)

Happy blogoversary! Wow that's a long time. Go you. :)

    1. I don't think I would have liked The Matrix if I watched it back then. I didn't LOVE it it but I can see how it was groundbreaking at the time and it was fun.

I've only watched Hone Alone the one time when it came out. I love Elf and A Christmas Story though and rewatch those all the time

  9. I've never seen the Matrix movies...now if they had been books I would have read them for sure LOL. Movies are so not my thing, and I can't even explain why.

Good luck with Ripley! and enjoy the bazaar food (which I know you will πŸ˜‰).

Here's to another round of 13 years! πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ (Don't you ever think of leaving me LOL. We seasoned bloggers must stick together! πŸ˜‰).

    1. The first movie would definitely be something you would like as a book.

Even though it seems like I like movies - I watch them and most tv reluctantly lol Once I get going I enjoy it but I'm very lazy about picking, turning it on....and I fall asleep a lot lol

  10. CONGRATS! I'm so excited for you. It's tough hanging on this long and I'm glad you've found a place to continue to share you thoughts at your own pace.

I'll have to look up the Bridesmaid one, sounds good. We will watch the new Matrix from home, and although I've seen the 2 and 3, I don't remember what happens at all. The first one is the best by far.

    1. I'm watching the Matrix on HBOMax. I still haven't been to a theater yet. I was starting to eat out after the booster but...sigh... will be stopping that again. Inside anyway.
