Introduce yourself! Hey my name is Kayla Graham from Simply Kayla’s Book Reviews Thanks Karen for having me today!
What is the name of your blog? (include blog link) How did you pick your blog’s name? The name of my blog is pretty simple, it’s Simply Kayla’s Book Reviews. When coming up with the name of my blog I just wanted something simple, self-explanatory, and straight to the point. Simply Kayla’s Book Reviews just popped into my head and I went with it lol.
How long have you been blogging? I have been blogging for 3 months
How do you measure blogging success? Is it strictly number of followers or something more? I honestly blog because I love to read books and share my opinions on them with other people who love reading as much as I do. If people follow me that’s great but, I don’t blog just to attain a lot of followers. I want to be able to share my love of books with people.
What genres/subgenres do you review, and what do you like best about those genres? I mainly review Romance and Young Adult books. I tend to lean more towards adult books though. I love any books with a Paranormal element in them. Paranormal Romance is my ultimate favorite genre.
What are you reading right now? Now I am reading Slave by Cheryl Brooks, she is such a great writer. After I read her book “Stud” I had to start at the beginning at the Cat Star Chronicles Series. I did an Interview with her on my blog on February 21st.
Do you use social media to promote your blog or discuss reading/blogging? Yes, I actually social network a lot… maybe too much. My twitter handle is @KaylaShantee; My Facebook name is Kayla Graham; My goodreads name is Simply Kayla
Where is your favorite place to read? My favorite place to read is at my Local Bookstore, or my Local Library.
What are your ideal reading conditions? I can read through basically anything, although I prefer it to be quiet I can block out everything around me if the books are good. Reading takes me to a whole other world which I love, it’s my escape from reality.
What are the top 5 books in your TBR (To Be read) pile? The top 5 books in my TBR Pile are Incorporeal by Julia Rachel Barrett (LOVE every one of her books!), Crave by Felicity Heaton (I loved her first book in this series which is Covet), Nothing Else Matters by Leslie Dubois, Arcadia Awakens by Kai Meyer, and Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood.
Obligatory controversial question: Love triangles! Love ‘em or hate ‘em, and why? I love “Love Triangles”, because of The Vampire Diaries. Damon and Stefan keep me on the edge of my seats because for one they’re both brothers in love with the same woman (Elena Gilbert), which is amazing! You never know what’s going to happen next, so you are left sitting there waiting to see what’s going to happen next. Very Addicting (The Vampire Diaries). Btw I love parenthesis, if you haven’t noticed.
What has been the best thing about blogging and reviewing books? The best part about blogging has been meeting other bloggers and chatting with new people about reading. I never knew that there were so many people who love to read, let alone love to blog about reading. I thought I was odd because I loved to read, and discovered that I’m not odd at all, just different. The blogging community is amazing! It’s like one big family and I love that. It’s great to have people who appreciate me talking about books, unlike my family and friends who hate it when I talk about books, and think I have a serious problem because I read and have tons of books haha.
