Better Know a Blogger

Welcome Aimee! I love Aimee's blog, Coffee Table reviews. It is so pretty and relaxing. This week she has a giveaway for Retribution by Sherrilyn Kenyon. So read on, meet Aimee, and then head on over to her blog!

Introduce yourself! Hi! I'm Aimee. I'm newly married to a wonderful guy who supports my book addiction since I support his video game addiction, and I love reading (obviously) and it's how I spend most of my time outside of work. I am a Researcher/Title Examiner for a Title Insurance company in Wyoming. I love all things outdoors, camping, 4 wheeling, swimming, etc. I bought a kindle so I can read anywhere, anytime. It's pretty awesome.

Karen: It's always great when the husband supports the addiction!

Coffee Table Reviews

What is the name of your blog? (include blog link) How did you pick your blog’s name? Coffee Table Reviews. It was originally Coffee Table Press and I picked it because the Coffee Table is where I lay most of my books when I bring them home. But the .com was taken and I didn't want to get it too confused with the .com if I did a .net so I changed Press into Reviews. But I like Reviews more since it describes more accurately what I do.

How long have you been blogging? Just over a year in May.

How do you measure blogging success? Is it strictly number of followers or something more? Followers is a tricky thing. Most don't come back. I view mine by how many regulars that stop by (I have quite a few that do and it makes me feel good). While publishers look at followers, I look at comments and the more regular, meaningful comments, the better.

Karen: I agree. The numbers don't really tell the whole story. It's a nice feeling when people come back and discuss your reviews and reading with you on a regular basis.

What genres/subgenres do you review, and what do you like best about those genres? I review all kinds of YA, Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. Recently, I've been reviewing more and more YA. I love it because I love teen angst. I don't know why, but I love the stories and I love the tension between two characters when there is romance involved.

What are you reading right now? Unraveled by Gena Showalter - Book 2 in the Intertwined series.

Do you use social media to promote your blog or discuss reading/blogging? I do! I love talking with other bloggers and getting book recommendations.
Twitter
Facebook

Where is your favorite place to read? I love to read outside on the deck. Preferably in the shade. I love being outside and enjoying the sound of the wind in the trees or the birds chirping.

Karen: I would love that too if I didn't live in FL! Maybe in the winter I will be able to get outside to read.

What are your ideal reading conditions? I like it quiet. I don't mind ambient noises, but it is distracting to try and read with music/tv/games going.

What are the top 5 books in your TBR (To Be read) pile?
10 Things We Did (And Probably Shouldn't Have) by Sarah Mlynowski
Love Story by Jennifer Echols
Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep
Fairy Bad Day by Amanda Ashby
Sirensong by Jenna Black

Obligatory controversial question: Love triangles! Love ‘em or hate ‘em, and why? Hate them! I usually end up on the loosing team. But mostly, I like to see the budding romance between a couple instead of having one of them confused on who they really want.

Karen: 100% agree! Could we please deal with one blossoming relationship before adding in another guy?

What has been the best thing about blogging and reviewing books? Meeting other bloggers. I don't have a lot of reading friends outside of the internet, and I love talking books. I love reading reviews and seeing new books I haven't heard of. I love reading reviews on books I didn't like or negative reviews on books I did like. I love to compare. Plus, the book blog community is the best. I haven't met a blogger who hasn't been nice. I haven't even ran into problems after posting a negative review (whew!). I love getting review copies, but that's just icing on the cake, really. I've had a blast with my blog and while it's addicting, it's an addiction my husband gladly puts up with!

Karen: Thank you for stopping by today!

Next up: Jen from What's On The Bookshelf will be the featured Better Know a Blogger on Friday.
