Better Know A Blogger: Jen - What's On the Bookshelf

Today I'm happy to introduce to my blogging pal Jen! We started blogging around the same time and became friends due to our mutual love of all things Jeri Smth-Ready and common tastes in music.

Introduce yourself! Hey everyone! I'm Jen...and I gotta say introductions aren't my thing. So, what do you say we get to the questions--they answer everything I'd say as an intro anyway. :)

What is the name of your blog? How did you pick your blog’s name? What's On the Bookshelf When I started the blog I was trying to figure out what book to review. I asked myself what I had on my bookshelf, and viola the blog was born. I know not really creative, but it works.

How long have you been blogging? A year this past month!!

How do you measure blogging success? Is it strictly number of followers or something more? I think success is measured many ways. Not just the number of followers, but also the response from followers. Comments, site visits, etc. For me, even though my followers have increased recently I felt the blog was successful long ago because of the friends and connections I've made.
What genres/subgenres do you review, and what do you like best about those genres? I review just about anything. YA, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, Contemporary. I love that I can be whisked away to another place when I read these genres, and I can almost always find a happily ever after.
What are you reading right now? I'm rereading Vampire Academy. I haven't read Last Sacrifice yet, so I'm going to reread the first books and refresh my memory before reading Last Sacrifice. I'm also reading Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian.
Karen: I need to catch up on Adrian's Midnight BReed series myself. I'm a few books behind.

Do you use social media to promote your blog or discuss reading/blogging? (Yep. I'm on Twitter, I review books for Book Reader Addicts on Facebook, and you can find me on Goodreads.

Where is your favorite place to read? On the beach. But, I don't live near a beach so that doesn't happen often. Other than that I'm happy to read anywhere...at work, at home on the couch, or in bed.

What are your ideal reading conditions? Someplace quiet and outside with the sun shining.

What are the top 5 books in your TBR (To Be read) pile?
Lord of the Vampires by Gena Showalter (thank you NetGalley),
My Teenage Beating Heart by C.K.Kelly Martin,
Here Lies Bridget by Paige Harbison,
Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead
Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler.

Karen: Lord of the Vampires is on TBR pile as well. We will read and discuss!

Obligatory controversial question: Love triangles! Love ‘em or hate ‘em, and why? Ugh...I love to hate love triangles. They are so common in YA books. Honestly, the overabundance of them is why I backed off YA for a while. Seemed like every book I read had a love triangle. A few authors can write them and not mess up the book. I know they add tension and romantic suspense, but I'm really more of a fan of knowing which guy the girl's going to get- or which girl the guy will get.

Karen: You know how I feel about that one....LOL

What has been the best thing about blogging and reviewing books? Finding new authors and meeting great people that share a common interest.

Thanks Jen!!

Next up! Becky from Bibliognome next Wednesday!
