Better Know A Blogger: Missie - The Unread Reader

I just discovered Missie's blog not too long ago. You really must get over there if you haven't yet. Besides her excellent reviews she has a few fun features including the 2011 Show Me the FREE Challenge, My Book Boyfriends and When I'm Not Reading - a feature that spotlights bloggers & what they so when they're not reading. *gasp*!

What is your name/blogger name? Missie
What is the name of your blog? The Unread Reader http://www.theunreadreader.com/

Do you have an auto-buy author, someone whose writing is so good, you have to read every single thing they write? Jeaniene Frost! I even joined a site, Rhapsody Book Club, with crazy membership requirements just to buy her books as hardbacks. At this point they only offer the Night Huntress World books on hardback, but I'm really hoping they will add in the Night Huntress books too. Another author I auto-buy is Charlaine Harris, but only the Sookie Stackhouse series, along with all the SVM related short stories.
Karen: Jeaniene is on my short auto buy list as well! I didn't know about the books being in hardback though. How cool is that??!!
Who is your all-time favorite couple in literature, and why? (Or favorite male/female character)
From the Classics, I'd have to say Anne Elliot and Captain Frederick Wentworth from Persuasion because the ugly duckling gets her dream man, even after she breaks his heart.
From something more modern day, I'd have to say Clare and Henry from The Time Traveler's Wife because they have to make the most of their stolen time together.
Favorite male character ever: Eric Northman! Why? He is a Viking and he is a vampire! Who care what else.
Karen: Again, I have to agree with you Missie - Team Eric all the way!
Favorite female character ever: Amelia Bedelia. She taught me a lot about accepting yourself no matter what.
Do you have an e-reader? Do you prefer e-books or regular books, or use both? I have two Kindles! I love my babies. I have even named them. John Lucas and Gwen. But at the end of the day, I love the feel of a book in your hand. There is nothing like turning pages.
What are your Top 5 picks for the best books of 2010? The Solitude of Prime Numbers by Paolo Giordano (released in the US in 2010), Shades of Atlantis by Carol Oates, The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook, If I Stay by Gayle Forman (I know. Not a 2010 release, but I read it in 2010 and absolutely LOVED it)
What book or series has been sitting in your TBR the longest? Oh Gawd. Too many to name. I guess I'll admit to not having read The Mortal Instruments series yet. The rest of my Unreads shall remain a closely guarded secret. Wouldn't want to give people the wrong impression. ;)
Karen: No Mortal Instruments yet?? Bad blogger....lol!
What's the best thing about blogging and reviewing books? Oh, so many things! Meeting other book lovers! Finding out the latest news on books and authors. Forming crushes on fictional characters. Reading about Reading. It is all just so fun.

Thanks for stopping by Missie!!

  6. You aren't the only bad blogger for TMI (a good acronym for something else). I have the first 2 on my tbr and haven't gotten to them yet. See, you aren't alone.

Oh, btw... BONES AND ERIC ARE MINE! *growls at any approach*

  7. YAY MISSIE! I <3 you and your blog bigtime:) Jeaniene Frost is absolutely on my auto buy list too, she could probably write a phone book and just randomly put little Bones snippets in the listings and I would run to the bookstore to buy it. And is there anything better than forming a fictional crush on a character? Nope:) If you keep this book boyfriend meme up I'm going to have an incredibly long list of crushes to juggle!
