Better Know A Blogger: Logan E Turner

*What is your name/blogger name? Logan E. Turner

"Aspiring author. Book blogger. Non-profit worker. Grad student. Lover of words and sparkly things."

Karen: I just love that! Makes me smile....

*What is the name of your blog?  http://www.loganeturner.com

Karen: She is NOT kidding on the challenge accepter part - I counted at least 10 challenges in her sidebar! I'm stressed for her...lol Good luck Logan!

*Do you have an auto-buy author, someone whose writing is so good, you have to read every single thing they write? There's not an author that I will automatically buy every single one of their books, but I read or have read almost everything by Dean Koontz, Rita Mae Brown, John Saul and Janet Evanovich.

*Who is your all-time favorite couple in literature, and why? (Or favorite male/female character)
My all-time favorite couple in literature is Romeo and Juliet. Even after hundreds of years and thousands of interpretations, their story is still amazingly powerful. True love is never easy and always involves sacrifice.
Karen - That seems to be the one that most endures and all other love stories are based on - even after all this time.

*Do you have an e-reader? Do you prefer e-books or regular books, or use both? I have a Kindle. I still read regular books, though mostly from the library. I love to buy books on my Kindle because they take up waaay less room on my bookshelves!
Karen - Waaaay less room! I think I read more since getting my Kindle because of that. Also, the TBR pile seems less intimidating when you can't see it....LOL

*What are your Top 5 picks for the best books of 2010? These weren't necessarily published in 2010, but my favorite books I read in 2010 were Matched by Ally Condie, Why We Suck by Denis Leary, It's a Book by Lane Smith, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
Karen - The Hunger Games is one of my all time favorite books.

*What book or series has been sitting in your TBR the longest? Probably Soulless by Gail Carriger or Graceling by Kristin Cashore.
Karen - I've read Soulless but haven't seemed to be able to move onto the next ones int he series yet.
*What's the best thing about blogging and reviewing books?
The best thing is getting recommendations and making recommendations to others. I've found so many books just through the blogging community and I love it when someone reads my reviews and wants to read the book.
Karen - That is exciting but it makes me nervous too. I would hate to have someone buy a book on my recommendation and then not like it.

Thanks for the interview Logan - now go check out her blog and her Silly Sunday post!

  1. Oooooh I hope you enjoy Soulless when you get the chance to read it, Logan!

Heheh...indeed, Karen...the ereader can be like a proverbial "bed" under which we sweep our belongings so that the room doesn't look as hectic. ^_^

  2. Thank for having me Karen! And yes, not only do ereaders allow me to hide my TBR pile, but it also let's me hide book purchases! :D

  4. Ah, Romeo and Juliet! A literary couple that has endured the test of time.

And why haven't I read Why We Suck? I have my theories, but I'd really like to know for sure.

*sigh* Carriger's series has been on my TBR forever. Someday.

Great interview! Love Logan. She is brilliant.

  5. Yay Logan!

Graceling has been on my TBR for a long time too. Someday! I'm with you on the book recommendations. Both giving and getting them making blogging so much fun.

I do agree with Karen though. I'm always worried that I'll gush about a book and someone will buy it and then hate it. I don't want angry fists waved in my direction and exclamations of "Darn you Small!!"
