Better Know a Blogger: Alisha - My Need to Read

Joining me today is Alisha! After reading all about her, go check out her blog and as she says "Relax, have a cup of tea, and enjoy yourself."

What is your name/blogger name? Alisha; nice to meetcha!
What is the name of your blog? My Need to Read http://www.myneedtoread.com/

Do you have an auto-buy author, someone whose writing is so good, you have to read every single thing they write? Definitely Victoria Dahl. I've read all of her contemporaries and can't get enough. Can't wait to crack into her historicals. Also, Gail Carriger and Chloe Neill--both of whom debuted in 2009--have quickly become auto-buys for me. Being in the worlds they create is like a warm blanket or a glass of chocolate milk.
Karen - I love Victoria Dahl too - Start Me Up is a favorite all time contemporary romance for me.
Who is your all-time favorite couple in literature, and why? (Or favorite male/female character)
No groundbreaking selection, here….my favorite couple has long been Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett of Pride and Prejudice. No matter how many times I read their tale (and it's been many), I still get the flutters. ^_^
Do you have an e-reader? Do you prefer e-books or regular books, or use both?
For reference materials, I still prefer physical books. But e-books and I are buddies these days…and nothing beats being able to fit several reads into a cute handbag! (I've got priorities, I know.)
What are your Top 5 picks for the best books of 2010?
Of those released during 2010:
The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook; (fave of the year!!!!!)
Venom by Jennifer Estep; (gets better and better)
Queen of Shadows by Dianne Sylvan; (dark and amazing)
Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill; (I luuuurve Merit!)
Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean.

What book or series has been sitting in your TBR the longest?
A Short History of the 20th Century, which I got during a non-fiction phase I seemed to have been going through in 2008. I started it right after buying it, then stopped somewhere in the first few chapters. It's interesting--if understandably dry--reading.

Karen - Here's a picture of Alisha reading...those don't look like fun books at all! LOL

What's the best thing about blogging and reviewing books?
Getting to connect with others! I've discovered that reading, though indeed a solitary activity, is exponentially more fun when shared with others. Blogging has opened up a whole world that allows just that….sharing (which we all know by now is "caring")!!

Thanks Alisha and it was great to discover a blog that's new to me and make another blogging friend!

  2. The Iron Duke!!!!!

Well, Alisha, I'm full of fail because I have yet to read anything by Victoria Dahl or Chloe Neill. Yes, feel free to throw tomatoes at me.

And that picture is too funny. And makes me envy your multi-tasking skills.

  5. Thanks for the love, Karen! ^__^ Oooh Start Me Up is so awesome. Might just be my fave Dahl contemporary, too.

Blodeuedd! I've always enjoyed language reference material. But indeed, that love only goes so far. ^__^ That expression is meant to imply, "Damn German is so confusing!!!"

Missie, awwww man that makes me want to send you some copies of their books! I've seen the books you read and know you'd love both authors. This is where I desperately wish I had a Kindle for lending.

Midnyte - Oh, you won't be disappointed! Some Girls Bite is calling your name...
