Better Know A Blogger: Jennifer - Reading With Tequila
If you haven't stopped by Reading With Tequila, you're in for a treat! She has a very interactive blog where your opinion counts and it's with filled with humor and great, well written, honest book reviews/interviews. One of my favorites!
Your Name: Jennifer
Name of your blog: Reading with Tequila http://www.readingwithtequila.com/
When did you start Reading with Tequila? October 2009
Number of followers? 1058
What do you review? Everything really - MG, YA & Adult. Mystery, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Chick Lit, Classics, etc. Whatever I read.
How did you get the name for your blog? It's actually a very fitting story. My husband had a friend over and we were all had a little too much to drink. Out of nowhere, I said "I'm going to start a book review blog. Right now. Give me a name." Well, all their ideas were drunken lameness. I honestly can't remember what they came up with, but I do remember them all being terrible. Finally, I looked at my shot glass, looked at my bookshelf and Reading with Tequila was born.
How would you describe your blog? I like to think of it as one big book party. I'm huge on reader participation, so I love having ongoing discussions. I have a year long contest going "How Well Do You Know Your Book Bloggers." I also run the "Book Blogger Recommendation Challenge" where I survey bloggers yearly for the most loved books and use the list for really fun reading challenge. I host lots of authors and always have a giveaway or two going on. I try to keep everything fun and welcoming.
What kind of blogger are you? Very organized or fly by the seat of your pants? I'm obsessively organized. I schedule like crazy and it works for me. With all the different things I have running at once, I have to.
What is your favorit?e review or post for your own blog? Do You Ever Lose the Excitement? http://www.readingwithtequila.com/2010/06/do-you-ever-lose-excitement.html About how thrilling it is to be able to communicate with my favorite authors.
Your favorite blog? Just one? Wow. I read a ton of blogs (not that you'd ever know it since I am a horrible lurker most of the time). The one I read the most (and actually manage to comment on occasionally) is 25 Hour Books. Tara started book blogging around the same time I did and it's kind of like we "grew up" as bloggers together. We read the same kinds of books and seem to agree on them most of the time.
What are you reading right now? I've been reading Blindness by Jose Saramago for weeks. It's that kind of book. I'm also reading Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie and The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie. Oh, and I'm also reading Magic in the Wind by Christine Feehan as part of the Barnes & Noble Free In-Store Nook promotion.
