Better Know A Blogger: Elin - The Norwegian Book Girl

Today I'm introducing you to Elin from The Norwegian Book girl. She's new to the blogging world but is doing a fantastic job and is quickly gaining new followers who agree with me. The blog is pretty and inviting and I always feel like I've been transported to a different world when I visit.
Your Name: Elin

Name of your blog: The Norwegian Book Girl - http://norwegianbookgirl.blogspot.com/

When did you start The Norwegian Bookgirl? I started the blog on July 18th, so it is pretty fresh. I have been blogging in Norwegian since January, but since I am reading so many English books, I decided to set up an English blog as well. That way I can better interact with book bloggers from all over the world, and spread the word about all the amazing books that are out there to a much larger audience.

Number of followers? 232

What do you review? My main focus on The Norwegian Book Girl is YA (paranormal, urban & fantasy), paranormal romance and historical fiction. I will occasionally review books in genres such as crime, mystery & thrillers.

How did you get the name for your blog? I did a lot of thinking before I decided on a name. The name on my Norwegian blog, translated into English, is BookMistress. But when I googled that name, I found out that it was taken by an online book-shop. I also came up with other names, that all turned out to be taken. Then I started thinking: the blog name should say something about me. I am a Norwegian girl who loves book, and there I got the name.

How would you describe your blog? A place where books are worshipped by a passionate reader and a place where the readers can find reviews written from a personal point of view. I also feature authors I like, will give some advice on good, Scandinavian literature and present the readers for news concerning books. A blog that breathes books.

What kind of blogger are you? Very organized or fly by the seat of your pants? Both, I think. I always try to plan ahead on what I am going to be blogging about from week to week. I try to post something once a day, so that the readers have something to come back too. I have a book where I write down what I will post on specific dates, which memes I am following, that sort of thing.

What is your favorite review or post for your own blog? That was a hard question. I think this review: http://norwegianbookgirl.blogspot.com/

What is your favorite blog? That was an extremely hard question. There is so many I like and I visit many, many blogs everyday, and every week I discover more wonderful blogs and bloggers. It doesn’t feel fair to focus on just one. I would like to mention some blogs that have teached me a lot about bookblogging in general and blogs that have been an inspiration:

Parajunkee
Book Crazy
The Story Siren
Bewitched Bookworms
I Just Wanna Sit Here and Read
Book Chick City
Confessions of a Bookaholic
Larissa’s Bookisk Life
Mindful Musings

What are you reading right now? Dark Ouch: The SHadows by Amy Merideth and Kiss of the Rose by Kate Pearce and I'm enjoying both of them.

Here's a peek at Elin's TBR pile! (Karen here: she's very neat)

Thank you for stopping by Elin!

  3. I do not dare say the number ;)It is many!
But I try to be organized. Book that have been sent to me for review has their own shelf, and I always read them first. And I also focus on reading books that are new. So my actual TBR pile at the moment ( new books, and books sent to me for review) is about 20 books.

Hopefully, I will get through my TBR in about a year or so, if I read as much as I do now. We have been painting the house this summer, so I haven't gotten to do so much reading, but when we are done with that I hope to get to read 4 books every week. When I am in a good period, I can read almost one book a day (I read fast).

  4. You're very welcome - I really enjoy your reviews and blog! I have at least 20 books to read also. I loaned some out to friends just so they're not taunting me until I can get to them :-))
