For What It's Worth

Update (aka: I was forced to write a post lol)

I have been (gently) harassed by Roberta (Offbeat YA) to post something before the years end to show my Christmas header lol

I'm still not reading much so I'll give a little life update.

You might recall that I had someone I care about in a tough situation. That is (not resolved fully but) on a better course. However, Kevin's father was just diagnosed with cancer. They're still doing tests and consultations on just what that means and treatment options.

I am STILL locked out of my health care app/website and now Kevin is too! So progress lol It's really annoying because that's how they do everything! They say it will be fixed in 30-45 days so I still have a few weeks to go.

Meanwhile, my latest Primary Care Dr. is now on extended medical leave, so I am on Dr. #7 since I moved to WA 3 years ago. I'm having issues with my breathing and coughing and other minor issues and it would be really great to not have start over and piecemeal the tests each visit. My latest Dr ordered allergy tests, and an EKG/stress test and scheduled a follow up appointment with HIM again in January. So fingers crossed he's still there.

Christmas is just a few days away and we're expecting an ice storm Thursday through Saturday. We don't plan on going anywhere but I realized I had to stock up because we won't be able to get out again until Sunday. And hopefully we don't lose power. I might be popping open a can of tuna for our Christmas dinner lol

I shared this on Instagram but it's very cool - we had a frosty morning and all these spider webs just popped out. I didn't really think we had many spiders around this late in the year but there were about 20 webs and it was very cool and magical.

This is a mug that Kevin got from the guys he works with. He's a manager and they're always going to his office.  I think it's hilarious.

tall, black aluminum cup that says Knock knock knocking on Kevin's door in white print

And a friend got me this ornament. So perfect!

small wood circle shaped ornament with a cat being beamed up to a space ship In white print, along the edges it says I'm fine, everything is fine

It's possible there will be a Christmas miracle and I will get one more post or review in this year but don't hold your breath lol

Have a safe and happy holiday season. And if this is a tough time of year, I get that too.
Either way, it's almost over!

  1. That header was well worth doing the post for ...just saying. Super cute! I laughed so hard as I sung what the coffee mug said. That's punny! I hope things get better for you with all your medical woes. It's a full time job when they mess that stuff up.

  2. I'm sorry you're struggling with your health. I'm in the same space. Although, I still have my doctor which I'm very grateful for. I hope you get things resolved as soon as possible. I'm sorry to hear about Kevin's dad. I hope the cancer was detected early enough that treatment is viable. Hugs!

    1. I had the same Dr for over 20 years in FL. Everyone has been nice here but it's hard to get to the source of my problem when I have to start over each time. And with the website problem, I have no way of contacting the office. I have to use the 800 # and that's been a crap shoot. GRRRRRRR lol

I've been thinking of you Jenni. HUGS back at ya!

  3. EEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! I made it!!!!!!!!!! 😅 I should (gently) harass you more often. Or you should avoid putting up seasonal headers in order not to be harassed to post 😂.

We have been talking about your family emergencies and doctor issues on Twitter, so HUGS once again...and good luck on that ice storm! Those web pics are super cute, the Christmas ornament is very funny and on brand...and Kevin's cup is hilarious!

Have a safe and happy holiday season yourself...Merry Christmas from Team Tiny Tennant!!! 😂

    1. It's already spread but it might be a slower type so fingers crossed they can control it with treatment.

Those webs were awesome. There were at least 20!

OMG the Dr thing is SO annoying when you have a problem.

  8. I'm sorry to hear about Kevin's dad. I hear you on some of the med stuff. I'm going through some of that with my mom- she has multiple issues going on and the health care system is not doing a great job managing her situation. The PCP sends her to specialists and the specialists refer her back to the PCP unless it's in their VERY specific wheelhouse, so there's confusion about who's going to interpret trests, manage RX's, etc. anyway... to your situation- I hope you get some resolution soon, and that this doctor pans out. Hang in there!!!

That's amazing about the spiders. I'm not a fan lol but I have to admit when the webs show up like that or are rimed in frost it is beautiful.

Hope you had a wonderful holidays!

    1. I'm sorry about your mom. I had to go through some of that when I was taking care of my dad (Parkinson's) but it was "the before times" when medical care was just mildly annoying lol
I just want to see the same Dr more than once but they don't care. Mostly aren't taking new patients so the schedulers just slot you in wherever.
I didn't think I had many siders out here - as compared to FL anyway but wow. There were at least a few dozen webs.

    2. The before times- I keep hearing that and there is something t othat. Health care is so different now and seems so fractured...

And yes appointments are MONTHS out

    3. The things we complained about then seem so simple now lol

  9. I'm not posting either... But oh well. I've actually been drafting posts for Jan - Feb in order to try and kick my butt back into a regular blogging schedule... We'll see how that goes, I guess!! Third, forth... fifth? Time lucky!!! :)

I'm glad that Roberta made you post something, lol. The blog header is super adorable.

Sorry to hear you have been having some health issues and all the chaos around the insurance... Why can't anything be simple? I'm also sorry to hear about Kevin's mum. Fingers crossed treatment goes well for her.

Look after yourself! Hopefully Christmas dinner wasn't a tin of tuna. :)

    1. I don't mind spiders. For some reason, when I moved to Fl, I decided to get over it because there's no avoiding them lol I rarely ever see them out here so I was shocked to see dozens of the frosted webs!
