Q&A

I saw this post over on Anna’s Herding Cats & Burning Soup blog and thought I would invite myself to answer the questions lol

Hey, it will be awhile before I read enough to post reviews again so I’m taking the post ideas where I find them! And they were fun questions.

Which superpower would you choose – being invisible or reading minds?

Reading minds would be super cool but…do I really want to know what’s in people’s minds??

Especially if I have to keep dealing with them. Probably not.

So invisibility and I’ll snoop on them instead lol

What was the yuckiest thing you ever ate?

This kind of surprised me because I like most food and I love tofu, tempeh and most vegetarian things but this was soooooo gross. Tasting and smelling. Most of my friends love it so I guess it’s just me but

I also hate broccoli rabe. It’s super bitter. Another surprise because I love almost every vegetable/fruit I encounter.

Are you left-handed or right-handed?

Right

Have you ever gone to the movies alone?

Twice. Once was for Twilight. I had this weird curiosity to see it, and Kevin offered to go with me, but I was sure it would be horrible so I went alone.

And Love, Simon. Kevin was on a business trip when it came out and I wanted to see it so I went alone.

Name a skill that you wish you could learn if you had all the time and money in the world.

I would also need a heaping dose of patience (something I do NOT possess) and creativity (which I also don’t have)  but woodworking and metal sculpting. I would love to create giant, weird works of art and have a cool studio.

Which would you prefer – more days in a week or more hours in a day?

More days in a week. A day is already long enough and I’m trying to go to bed at 7 pm  lol

What mantra do you repeat to yourself when life gets a little too difficult to manage?

I have panic attacks and one of the things Kevin says to me is – breathe…be calm – in with the good out with the bad. So I chant that over and over when I’m having one or feeling stressed and it works for me.

He also got me a bracelet that says: Breathe, be calm & STFU – and it makes me laugh, which also helps with panic attacks.

Star Trek or Star Wars?

I’m not a huge fan of either but Star Trek TNG – Jean Luc Picard all the way!

What is your favourite drink?

Iced coffee. I make my own blend with Stok brand iced coffee - 3/4 black and 1/4 chocolate, with a touch of cream.

What kind of toppings do you hate on your pizza?

I can’t have pizza anymore. At least not with sauce (I can’t have acidic foods) but I was a pepperoni, extra cheese, pineapple gal.

No anchovies but otherwise I’ll try most things as long as it’s not a lot of toppings piled on.

Are you a lefty or a right? Scream at horror at the thought of pineapple on pizza? Let me know your answers int he comments!

  1. I feel like reading minds is way too much an invasion of privacy, and anyway it would probably just get really annoying having to deal with that all the time. So yep, invisibility for me too!

I can't eat pizza anymore either, but yay pineapple on pizza! Although I think I was extra strange cuz I liked to get a whole bunch of veggie topping, plus pineapple, no meat. And then I dipped it all in garlic sauce lol.

    1. Pineapple on pizza seems very divisive lol but I guess my followers are pro pineapple!

I have veggies with a white sauce now. I can' have pineapples either anymore :-(

  2. Beyond Meat is one of our favorites! The "meat" patty's look and taste very realistic. A lot of restaurants have started using them for their vegan burgers (Carl's Jr., Earth Burger). I'm sorry you didn't like it! The kids love the Beyond Meat "chicken" strips.

    1. The kid's favorite pizza is mushroom, pineapple, and black olives, so it's what we get a lot.

    2. Blech....they're so gross to me lol I hated even being in my house after I made them because of the smell. I don't know why because I usually like meat alternatives.

    3. I've never made them at home, but we've enjoyed the ones we've had elsewhere! Was it just the smell, or the taste as well?

  3. I think invisibility for me too. How fun!

That sounds like a good way to handle anxiety. :)

I used to love pepperoni and extra cheese on pizza but since going vegetarian I mostly get stuff like green olives, tomatooes, mushrooms... basically all the veggies lol.

    2. It's amazing how different I eat now. I used to think why even get a pizza if I can't get meat? lol. Now I'm like veggie pizza please.

  4. As a student I would always go to the cinema alone-I saw a ton of great films back then! It's way to expensive to go now! I do love a plain cheese pizza with extra cheese but the dental work I'm getting means I struggle to chew anything!

    1. I only go to matinees now but even those are getting expensive!

I just got a cap on my front bottom tooth and if I want it to last I can't bite down on anything so I'm the same. I have to cut up everything into tiny bites and I look ridiculous when I'm out at a restaurant lol

One day I'll get a permanent crown but the insurance wouldn't cover it when the cheaper fix would do.

  6. These are great questions! The internet seems to be divided about impossible burgers, it's a hard pass too!

I love the bracelet you have, that's such a great reminder!

    1. It REALLY bitter. I've read that you can cook on low heat for a long time but if it requires that much effort to be edible - no thanks lol

  10. I like pineapple on pizza, which being from Brooklyn, is almost criminal, but hey! The heart wants, what the heart wants. You're right. Reading minds would be terrifying. The amount of time it would save would be offset by how scary it would be to hear everyone's thoughts. I don't like to go anywhere alone. I have never been to a film alone. I just wait for it to come on cable.

    1. I'm surprised by how many people here like pineapple. I usually get weird looks - or open hostility lol

It was ok going to the movies alone but, as you would expect, it's lonely. No one to share your thoughts with.

  11. Yeah, I do not want to know what people are thinking all the time. I'll take invisibility over reading minds for sure. I love that bracelet Kevin got you - definitely a good mantra for anxiety/panic attacks! I'm right handed, and I'm a cheese pizza kind of person. I don't really need anything else - granted, I have to start eating gluten free pizza now, so we'll see how good THAT is. haha

  14. Oh how I love Q&A's. :) Big thumbs up for pepperoni pizza! I'm not one of those who is horrified by pineapple on pizza but it's also not something I would order for myself. Love the bracelet that Kevin got you. :)

  15. Pineapple on pizza seems like a cardinal sin, but maybe that's because I'm originally from NY and we're really particular about our toppings here. That said, I am an artichoke and olives girl all the way. Mmmm... piiiiiiizza...

OMG, this totally made me LOL: More days in a week. A day is already long enough and I’m trying to go to bed at 7 pm lol <Yup! also me.

I love the bracelet that Kevin got for you. I need to remember to take deep breaths when I am feeling panicked by something. Also I would love to know what people are thinking. I feel like it would help me SO MUCH in life!

  16. I can't even THINK about pineapple on pizza 🀒. LOL. Seriously...why pineapple on pizza is a thing and, say, bananas and plums aren't? what's the thing about pineapple?

Kevin is such a considerate husband. Where did you buy him, exactly? πŸ˜‚

  17. Yes, I do scream at the mention of pineapple on pizza, ha ha, but the new thing with the hipsters is everything and anything goes on pizza, so I just have to turn my head the other way and weep. I don't like anchovies either. πŸ•

  18. White sauce pizza. It can be surprisingly good :) Yeah I've not had that type from them but the Beyond beef crumbles were pretty horrifying, too. lol

  19. I would definitely include more days in the week but only if they could be weekend days and not work days, thank you :P I think I have never gone to the cinema alone yet DD: Now I feel a need to try it. Twilight is definitely worthy of going to the cinema alone for ;)
