My Monday Musings...taking a little break

This will be my last post for awhile. We’ll be moving from FL to Washington State this week.
To say I’m stressed would be an understatement lol

Between getting the house ready to sell, packing for the move, getting Figment acclimated to the car and Fonzi having wonky bloodwork results that I can’t do anything about until I get there – well, I’m kind of at my breaking point. I may have had a few meltdowns. But we’re in the final stretch and fingers crossed that things will go well.

I won’t have any time to blog & probably won’t have internet right away but will be posting on Instagram and Twitter (both @teamsheltie) if you want o follow our epic road trip and get quality content – like pictures of an angry Figment.

As for reading….well no time for that! But these are the books that I didn’t pack, thinking I would have time at night to read and unwind, but I’ve been too exhausted.

I did start Girls with Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young a few weeks ago and it’s pretty good so far but haven’t made it past chapter 3.

I listened to Darius the Great is Not Okay by Adib Khorram on audio (my review on Goodreads) and I loved the narrator’s (Michael Levi Harris) voice and this quiet little story – even though there was a lot of repetition of certain words and phrases.

I also received a few books for review. Lots of catching up once I get I get settled!

So…I might have to time to visit a few blogs and comment over the next few weeks or I might not…but I’ll be back sometime around mid-March!

I hope the little monster...I mean, the poor bugger...won't get too distressed. Did the drugs you tested him with work on him ultimately?

Have a safe and smooth journey!

    1. It was hard to tell. It doesn't drug them like a sedative - it's more like a high lol But he did ok so we'll see if he's ok for a longer day.

  4. At least you'll have some reading material for the road ahead and life without internet. I'll be sending you positive vibes that the fur babies don't freak out.

    1. I've been so exhausted I can't read a thing but maybe I'll whip out my Kindle on the road.

  5. Good luck with the move. I may not have commented on your updates on the move but I've seen them all so I know you've been racing round to get ready. Hopefully it all goes to plan and you'll all get there in one piece (why yes, I am picturing Figment getting out and getting revenge for the car journey).

  6. I hope the trip goes smoothly, Karen! I can’t believe how quickly it’s all happened... I’d have had more than a few meltdowns! Safe travels... and I can’t wait to hear about the trip and the new homestead!

  7. Good luck! I hope Figment does okay, and that Fonzi's doing alright. I'm so curious about The Fever King, so hopefully that's a good read when you get to it.

  8. Wow the move's here already! Good luck and happy driving! Hopefully Figment won't make you too miserable. :)

Hope you get to sneak some reading time in. And Girl With Sharp Sticks looks awesome, I need that.

  11. I'll be sending positive thoughts your way! Traveling is never easy, but doing it with kids, pets, or both only makes it more difficult. Fozi is okay in the car? Is it just Figment that gets agitated? I hope they love the new place! <3

  16. I hope you are having safe travels. Moving is so hard and so stressful. I remember how stressed I was when I moved from Phoenix to Portland, and we had three cats and a dog at the time. Deep breaths... you will get through this. Luckily, we are hitting a nice stretch of warm sunshine days, which is a huge turn around considering we had snow a week ago. Looking forward ot hearing from you when you are settled.
