Happiness is...Spring

SPRING

~ The Easter Bunny made it to my doorstep this year :-)

~ Because of our wacky winter weather and early rains - the flowers are already starting to bloom.

~ With spring comes pollen and the dogs tracking it all in - something that doesn't make me happy lol but Indy's feet look cute sooooo...

~ That big hole (3" round) in the tree is a Pileated Woodpecker nest. They had all but disappeared from my area during the house building boom a few years ago, since construction tore down most of their wooded habitat. But they've started to come back and since I leave most of my yard natural - I guess they decided to make my yard home. I'm super excited!

  1. LOL at the Easter Bunny and Indy's feet.
The Woody, err, Pileated Woodpecker is cute, with that red cap. How would I know about dog and bird species without you? ;)

    1. That's my new job in life lol

The pileated is my favorite type of woodpecker. I have several different kinds in my yard - they're huge and very striking with the black on red.

  2. I love the messy paws... I love in-between seasons lik Spring & Fall minus the allergies. Iget horrible and embarrassing coughing fits you think I'm dying. Oi!

  5. Oh yea, we had woodpeckers and they can be a noisy bunch... and fun at the same time. I always say dogs are cute for a reason... just look at those feet! AW!! I have yet to see our bunnies, but funnily enough I often see them more in the fall.

  6. Love the photos! That bunny is too cute. I see them every now and then around my house but never enough to get a good photo. I do like watching the squirrels run around though.
