#BookMail

Oh man! My beloved Mac finally died beyond repair and needed tp be replaced. I don’t do well with change in general but switching over from Mac to Windows has been near heart attack inducing for me. lol

Any-hoo, while I get the hang of all this, there will probably less reviews for a week or two. But I did get some new shiny books and that’s always a good thing to share!

For review from Mac Kids Books:

Bought – click on cover to view on Goodreads (quick thoughts added if I already read it):

Level Up: A Geek Romance Rom Com, Book 1 (Fandom Hearts)

Freebie: Geeks, gaming & romance! A few editing issues but cute!

Waking Up Alive

Zombie apocalypse/romance. Very low sexy times heat level (kissing only), good zombie action but I checked out when the hero started calling the heroine Baby girl after two minutes of meeting her.

Rolling in the Deep

Love Rebecca Rogers Maher’s realistic characters and writing.

  2. As for me Windows is even better than Mac. Of course that depends on the person's preferences! However I think that you will get used really soon.

  3. It must be a reaL pain in the butt to switch. We tried Linux once and were like - what were we thinking? It only lasted a couple of days LOL.
Good luck, and I hope your books are enough consolation!

    1. After one day of a complete meltdown on my part - I'm doing better and actually liking the new computer.

I got a great deal on my Mac years ago. It was over the holidays and they didn't have what I wanted so they gave me all these free upgrades - but that's not happening again and they're just too pricey. So Windows it is.

    3. I'm trying really hard not to be one of those people afraid of trying new things as I get older lol

  4. oh sorry to hear about your Mac!! I feel the same way...only backwards. I have always been on Windows, but whenever I try to work with MAC---I am utterly lost. hehe I probably wouldn't mind having one if it weren't for the price that they are. Hope you learn your way through your new computer quickly. Its different but I really like it.

    1. I had Windows YEARS ago and it was a nightmare. Now that I'm getting used to this computer I like Windows - really it's a lot like the Mac

  5. Sounds like the author of Wake Up Alive is a Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds fan!

Level Up looks adorable, and I'm definitely looking up Rolling in the Deep.

I am definitely a PC girl, but I can't imagine how hard it would be to switch operating systems. The struggle is real!

  7. Aw, sorry about your Mac. I have a new computer and I need to switch over, but I have to make sure I have Microsoft Word and all that. I hope it won't be too weird - new computers in general are just awkward for me for a bit and I've had this one for such a long time. It's dying though -slow and annoying, so it's time!

Thanks for sharing your book mail!

    1. Other than a bit of an adjustment period (& one minor meltdown) I'm liking the new computer.

  8. So sorry about your Mac! But also relieved, because when I first read it I thought that someone named Mac died, so this is better in comparison, I guess? I hope you get the hang of the new one soon!

The books look amazing- I cannot WAIT to read Goldfish!
And the zombie book "baby girl" thing has me chuckling pretty hard. I cannot imagine ANYONE wanting to be called "Baby Girl" during the zombie apocalypse (or fine, ever), but especially within two minutes!

  9. Aww sorry about your computer Karen! I'm curious as to why you decided to get a Windows, most apple users always swear that they'll never go back. Haha. I'm the complete opposite. I've used a mac/iphone from time to time and each time it causes me to break out in hives. I just can't do it!

    1. The cost. There are only a few Mac models to choose from and they're all pricey.

I'm loving the new one now that I'm getting used to it though.

Enjoy your shiny babies and may the force of Windows be with you.

    Happy weekend, K!

  11. I should curse you for that last book. Now I have that song in my head. LOL I commend you for switching mac to windows, but I don't think I'd ever switch that wildly. I'm too set in my ways (now I sound like an old codger). :)

    1. Bahaha! I didn't even think of that.

I HATE change. It was a $$ decision or else I wouldn't have either. Having said that - I'm adapting pretty well.(except for one temper tantrum/meltdown lol)

  12. Oh man that is so not fun! It's bad enough having to get a new one with the same operating system. I was cursing up a storm my last change when it went to Windows 10. It was an awful the changes they made. Whew.

Hope things straighten out for you soon!

  14. OH GOSH! Windows kinda terrifies me now that I've been with Apple for so long so you take all the time you need so you can get used to the "new" swing of things! But you're smart so I know you can do this! <3 Enjoy your books lovely!
