The Sunday Post…

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I haven’t been participating in many memes this past year but I always enjoy this one on other people’s blogs because there’s a little variety so I decided to join in this week.

INCOMING!

Books I received for review…

What I’m watching:

S1 of The House of Cards – this series shocks and depresses the heck out of me. I should be able to finish S1 this upcoming week and start S2. I hope there is at least one character that can restore my faith in humanity. It’s not looking good so far.

What’s Your Number (IMBD). I caught this one on TV last week and I loved it. It has awful ratings and reviews. I’m guessing that it’s because Ana Faris’s character is not “likeable” because she’s sexually confidant and aggressive. It’s not a perfect movie by any means but it was a fun rom-com. Chris Evans was adorable.

Pain & Gain (IMBD) I have no idea why I watched this. I knew it wouldn’t be for me. I heard it was ultra violent and raunchy. It is, I guess, (I’ve seen worse) but more than that – it was boring. The Rock was good/funny though.

Love Is All You Need (IMBD) This was on the indie movie channel. It was a very low key, sweet movie with an older couple that falls in love. It stars Peirce Brosnan. “A hairdresser who has lost her hair to cancer finds out her husband is having an affair, travels to Italy for her daughter's wedding and meets a widower who still blames the world for the loss of his wife.” Warning: The ending is a bit open – but sweet.

On the blog this week:

Review: Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

Tune in Tuesday

review: Best Kind of Broken by Chelsea Fine

Also….I finally started using my Facebook page. I have an aversion to Facebook but I realized if I stay away from personal page (which gives me a moderate case of angina) and stick with my blog fan page I’m ok lol

I post about the books I read (that I probably won’t be reviewing), music, movies and TV so join me over there too if you feel like talking about stuff!

  2. Hard to continue with a series of there isn't at least one redeeming character. Enjoy your new reads and have a great week.

    1. It's a great show but with absolutely no one to root for it leaves me so depressed lol

And knowing that it's all probably true is even worse.

    1. It has something like a 20% approval on Rotten Tomatoes. I stumbled upon it on cable last week.

  6. I do have Facebook, but don't really link it to my blogging, as it's mostly to keep in contact with family around the globe, but I do have quite a few 'likes' on bookish pages so get their update. The Sunday Meme is also one of my favourite, I enjoy looking back at everyone's week. Enjoy your week and Happy Reading. My Sunday post is here

    1. Mine is for the blog too. I've had it for over a year but never use it. It's kind of fun now that I'm getting the hang of it. I kind of thought of it as a chore - one more place I have to link to lol

    1. I've had it for months but I guess I can get to actually reading it now since it's coming out soon. I hope it's good.

I HATE FB and that's why I never go on. But I decided to give it one more shot or just close it down all together. I have the link on my sidebar but why should people follow if I'm never there? Like Google+ too.

  12. My husband and I love House of Cards. It is not happy a show. It gets much darker and depressing in Season 2.
