Let’s Talk! Distractions

Let’s Talk is a fun new meme to discuss an little bit of this & a little bit of that (not always bookish) hosted by Smash Attack Reads and A Book Obsession.
This weeks question: When you get on the computer, what sites distracts you from working on your blog?

There is only site that distracts me from blogging.

I’m pretty sure that If I would get my a** off Twitter I could be the one to achieve world peace, cure cancer or at least get my house clean and pay some bills. It’s a huge time suck for me but I love it so it stays.

Not a website but my 2nd biggest blogger distraction is this guy:

0-1mail-74

That’s my baby boy… Figment (also pictured on my sidebar). He hates when he isn’t THE center of attention and especially hates when I blog or read. He’s either sprawled across my keyboard or drooling on my iPad.

For the most part it’s blogging that is the distracting thing that keeps me from everything else! It seems that I’m in an endless distraction loop. lol

  1. Figment is adorable! We got a cat too, and he's learning the sprawling over books thing..

    1. He gets so mad when I read lol He tries to push my book away or peers over the top. If it's my iPad then he drools all over it. Stand your ground! haha

    1. It aces up SO much of my day but I love it. I am getting better at not reading every single tweet though and taking some time away.

  3. I haven't found Twitter to be that much of a distraction. Every time I log on, all I see is giveaway announcements with a random conversation stuck in there. I think I must not be following the right people...

    1. I'm really pick about who I follow. I won't follow people who only tweet giveaways or authors that self promote. I'm lucky - the people I follow are either funny or engage in conversation.

  4. Haha! Love the first pic - he's like "Won't you have to look at me NOW???".
I'm not on Twitter, but sometimes I happen to lurk here and there and all I see is what Andrea said. On the other hand, I've been spending most of my Internet time on Goodreads lately (big surprise)...staring at my TR books and wondering when I will be able to afford them...

    1. Before I follow someone on twitter I check their stream - if it's all giveaway/self promotion tweets then I don't follow. I follow a few hundred people (in comparison to the thousands others follow) so I feel like I've made friends and have fun talking to the people I do follow.

I don't really interact on Goodreads very much and I don't know why. I mostly use it for keeping track of what I've read and checking out my friends reviews before selecting a book. Not much else.

(And I agree, Twitter is definitely my number one distraction as well. But it's so much fun, isn't it?)

    1. My dogs aren't too much of a distraction. Except when I get my snack, my drink, my book, wrap up in a blanket and then they have to go out to the bathroom lol

  11. I love orange cats! All I've ever had are orange cats! (Miss Kitty, Ed, Zeus). I didn't get to name any of them though :(

My distraction is other book blogs. I subscribe to so many of them. How do I find the time to blog when I have so many articles to read?! So addictive.

  12. Ha ha! I love that I get to see Figment in action after tweeting back and forth with you about him. He's such a handsome guy!

  13. Yeah, what is it about Twitter -- hard to get off there!
And pets are a LOT of work. But so is blogging. I agree with you. I was away for a week and had all my posts planned out and pretty much took a break from blogging and now I'm back and have no posts and feel so behind….

  14. Love Figment ;) twitter is my biggest Internet distraction & I'm sure it's partially bc it's easily done from my phone.

  15. I love the fact that your cat is named Figment. Which I associate with Disney's purple dragon that I adored in my childhood. Twitter is a distraction, but for me the worst is Pinterest. It is a complete time sucker for me!
