Tune in Tuesday

Tune In Tuesday is a weekly feature in which bloggers get to showcase another one of their loves, music! The feature was originally created and hosted by Ginger over at GReads! but can now be found over at Kate’s Tales of Books and Bands.

This week is a random mix of songs. Enjoy!

The National - The Rains of Castamere: this song was featured on Game of Thrones Season 2, Episode 9 I love The National and I get chills from this song. It’s so haunting.

Phillip Phillips – Wanted is Love: I’m aware that whole world already knew about the American Idol winner already except for me but better late than never.

Robert Delong – Global Concepts: Have you ever hated a song and then all of a sudden it’s stuck in your head and you start liking it? Well this is that song for me. It’s crazy and all over the place. It sounds like he’s clanging on pots & pans in his kitchen but I can’t help it….I love it. WARNING – f-bombs!

  3. BAHAHAHAHAHA! "It sounds like he’s clanging on pots & pans in his kitchen" when I heard that on the song I burst out laughing, SO true. I like it. One song I used to hate and now I can't get it out of my head: Too Close by Alex Clare. Remember how much I disliked it? *shakes head*
Oh I love Phillip Phillips, I don't watch AI but I know who wins and all that. His song "Home" I looooove it!! I thought it was Mumford & Sons the first time I heard it LOL.

    1. I think that is HILARIOUS! You made fun of me for liking that before lol

I think Phillips sounds like a cross between M&S's and Dave Matthews - depending on what songs you listen to.

    2. Hahaha I know, I reply to your tweet with lot of shame. :p The radio stations are the ones to blame, they played it way too much and ruined it for me.
Yes!!! Dave Matthews too. I love his voice. (Phillips voice).

  4. My stepmom and I have completely different tastes in music except for when it comes to Phillip Phillips. We can most certainly agree that his voice is full of awesomeness :)

    1. I just said that in the comment above - I think he sounds like Mumford & Sons/Dave Matthews.

I heard Home on VH1 but my husband had me listen to his CD and it's really good.

  6. Oh, I remember that song from Game of Thrones! Haunting is a good word for it. I like it a lot. And... this is the first I've ever heard of Phillip Phillips (which is a silly name) so I must've been living under the same rock as you. I'm impressed actually, listening to that song of his - I wouldn't say I assume the best out of American Idol contestants. I really love unusual songs with unusual beats so I LOVED the last one - thanks for the rec!!

    1. I have never watched any of the talent reality shows so I'm totally out of the loop. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

  7. YES!!! I remember that episode of Game of Thrones!

Every time I hear Seven Devils being played in a movie trailer or tv show or whatever, I can't help but get chills.

  10. The National is fantastic! I'm pretty sure my favorite is Conversation 16... pretty sure. :P They have such a great sound and High Violet is an amazing album. I've only ever watched a few episodes of American Idol, but none in recent years. I fell in love with Phillip Phillips voice but had no clue he was tied to AI. I'm not so sure about Global Concepts. Maybe I just need to listen to it a few more times? Hee hee. Thanks for sharing!
