Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin #2)
by Robin LaFevers

Expected publication date: April 2,2013
Houghton Mifflin Books for Children

Sybella arrives at the convent’s doorstep half mad with grief and despair. Those that serve Death are only too happy to offer her refuge—but at a price. Naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, the convent views Sybella as one of their most dangerous weapons.

But those assassin’s skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to a life that nearly drove her mad. Her father’s rage and brutality are terrifying, and her brother’s love is equally monstrous. And while Sybella is a weapon of justice wrought by the god of Death himself, He must give her a reason to live. When she discovers an unexpected ally imprisoned in the dungeons, will a daughter of Death find something other than vengeance to live for?

This heart-pounding sequel to Grave Mercy serves betrayal, treachery, and danger in equal measure, bringing readers back to fifteenth century Brittany and will keep them on the edge of their seats.

I LOVED Grave Mercy, book #1 in the His Fair Assassin series. (my review)  The writing was exquisite and I was so sad to leave that world when it ended.

Sybella was a fascinating character and I’m dying to read her story. I imagine it will be much darker than the first book.

  6. Hey - your song widget isn't showing up. What albums have you been listening to most lately? I've gotten really into Passion Pit's Gossamer and The Head and the Heart's new album.

    1. It's missing!! I didn't notice.

I'm kind of stuck on P!nk when I'm working out every night for some reason lol Her new Truth About Love CD.

I found the new Sons of Anarchy season 2 soundtrack and love that. It's kind of a downer but really beautiful songs.

Awolnation - To be honest I don't love the CD but I saw them live and they were amazing so listening brings me back to the concert.

I don't know The Head and the HEart. I just pulled up Spotify to find them.

      Thanks!

    2. I've never really gotten into P!nk. I'm more of a Ke$ha fan when it comes to top 40. So catchy.

Also forgot to mention that I'm loving Metric's new album. Have you heard of Lord Huron? I like their music too.
I'm not familiar with Awolnation much.

    3. I don't usually like her either. It's this one CD and only when I work out. lol

The new Awolnation CD isn a't a favorite but they were so amazing in concert (I actually went because Imagine Dragons was opening - not for them) that I've started listening more.

I heard a few of Metric's new songs but I haven't listened tot he full album yet.

I liked The Head and the Heart so I'll look up Lord Huron next.
