Let’s Talk! Fall/Winter TV shows

Let’s Talk is a fun new meme to discuss an little bit of this & a little bit of that (not always bookish) hosted by Smash Attack Reads and A Book Obsession

What TV shows are you most excited for this Fall/Winter, and why? Yes, we encourage the pimping of hot men on TV. There is certainly no shortage of that this season!

I rarely watch TV these days which is weird because I was TV OBSESSED not even 5 years ago. Like from the second I woke up until I fell asleep at night. I needed a dual tuner DVR plus one in my bedroom to record everything I watched.

Then a tragic event happened….my DVR broke mid TV season and half a season 6 of LOST was well….lost. You can’t watch LOST out of order so I had to wait until it was available on DVD (in the days before streaming…) I ended up not caring thereby breaking my TV addiction. I never even finished watching the series. I don’t know how it ended.

So anyway... there really aren’t any fall/winter shows I’m looking forward to. I’m going to cheat - the show I’m looking forward to seeing has already aired BUT due to a dispute between Dish and AMC I didn’t get to see it. BREAKING BAD – Season 5.

I love this show!!! I think it’s the best show on television right now. It’s the last season, split into two parts and I didn’t get to see the first half of the final season!!! It’s not on anywhere and I’m trying desperately to avoid spoilers. But maybe it will come out in some form this fall/winter?

How about you? What are you looking forward to?

  1. I was excited for the new season of Doctor Who, but that's over already. Boo hoo. Six or seven episodes, and then nothing until the Christmas special. :(

But at least The Walking Dead has started up. I am excited for that. And I always make time for The Big Bang Theory.

    1. I lost touch with Doctor Who since the newest Doctor. I keep hearing mixed opinions for the last two seasons. I'll probably catch it during a marathon at some point. Have you enjoyed it?

I do have a few episodes of The Walking Dead recorded.

    1. That is probably the best way. There are so many HUGE WTF moments and you won't be left hanging lol

    1. I watch The Daily Show & The Colbert report every day other than that I usually have a music channel playing while I read.

Breaking Bad is fantastic though. I'm always shocked at what they throw at me.

    1. It's so good! I don't have Netflix either. I know it would probably be easier and I would watch more if I did. I'm too lazy lol

  6. Funny, I *just* started this show the other day so I'm early in the process but I totally love it!

  8. Trying again, this time making sense...

I've heard of Breaking Bad but never seen it. I'm a little pathetic, I don't watch series television much because I'm paranoid about it being canceled. I like American Horror Story though (it's already started since I see my DVR is taping it).

    1. I just started recording American Horror Story but I can't find the first season or first ep of this season anywhere. I'm not sure I'll understand what it going on.

You bring up a great point and another reason why I don't watch much TV anymore. Getting back to my Lost thing....a lot of shows started following that serialized formula with a slowly unraveling plot and you are totally left hanging if the cancel the show!

  9. Oh, Breaking Bad! It's one of my all time favorite dramas. I also love Vampire Diaries, Dexter and Downton Abbey. And Heart of Dixie - such a cutey ;)

Btw, I didn't finish Lost either (but I know how it ended...)

    1. A friend told me how it ended but she was still confused lol I have the general idea of what happened but not specifics.

I should just wiki it one day. I don't want to see it because everyone seemed so disappointed.

  11. I know how you feel about the DVR, I used to watch tv all day long, but now it's only at night. Because watch tv cuts the time on reading.

  13. I don't know how you could not want to know how Lost ended. LOL. Not that it explained anything. It was definitely left up to the person's perspective/imagination. VAGUE. Lost.

I love the DVR so I don't have to deal with commercials, and some shows come on too late for this 6 AM wake up call chic. heh

    1. It was hard to avoid spoilers for that long so I ended up not caring and then when it ended so many people were disappointed that I didn't bother.

I know what happened to the main characters but not everything.
