Book Blogger Hop & Follow Friday!

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen at Crazy For Books.

Question: When did you realize that reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?  About two years ago. I really only read about 4 or 5 books a year before that. I even made reading part of my New Years resolution by promising to read 1 book per month. Then for some reason something clicked and one book a month turned to one book a week & then one book a day. I occasionally go through reading slumps but I don't think I could ever go back to the days of casual reading. It's sort of like breathing to me now. I NEED to read, I need to discuss books, I can't imagine life without it.

Question: In light of the summer solstice. Also known as mid-summer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae? I really dislike the fae (beautiful but manipulative, creepy, lying son of b*&#@'s....!!) so I don't have a favorite fae story. As for a fairy tale - the one the comes to mind is Beauty and the Beast. It has a great message, loving someone no matter what, true love can heal. I also tend to like the story in all it's incarnations. I've been reading a few modern takes on the classic and I've liked them all and of course the Disney movie is adorable.

Thanks for stopping by I'll be hopping back!

I'm participating in the Midsummer's Eve Giveaway Hop that ends tonight! Click HERE to enter.

Wow, you don't like Fey? Have you read the Iron Fey series?

I love Beauty and the Beast too.

  7. HAHAHA!! :D I really hated the fae, too, but they've started to grow on me ... the Fever series has a LOT to do with it, of course, even though those fae are *exactly* like you described, LOL (then again, ALL the Fever characters are like that, so it might just be a Karen Marie Moning thing :P) ... and Chime pretty much sealed the deal for me!! 8. I too have a need to read books. It has, especially since I started blogging, become a huge part of my 'me' time and it is one of those things I do for the pure enjoyment of it.

  10. Hi Karen! You might not like the holly black books if you aren't a fan of the fae, but she mixes the mythology in with real life really well.
