Fake it until you make it - where I make myself blog until I can blog lol

I'm going to plod through this blogging comeback until I get in the groove again lol Bear with me as muddle through.

I struggle so hard just to get a post going and I've decided to make myself do at least one a week even if I don't really have much to say and, hopefully, it will get easier and easier.

So today's ramblings are about the weather and our winter travels.

I HATE PNW winters but we've had a surprisingly mild one this year. In fact, I've found myself hoping for more rain (& snow in the mountains) because the lack of will hurt us in the summer - especially if we have any heatwaves. The fire danger will be bad.

For the past few days we've had an atmospheric river which has dumped almost 4 inches of rain. Be careful what you wish for, I guess! We do need the rain but it's also bringing flooding and landslides so...

Which is a long winded way to bring me back to sunnier winter days. We got to stay at Sea & Sand RV Park  a few times this winter. It's always booked solid from spring until winter and is $$$$. Winter is too cold wet and rainy to bother but, because of the mild - even unusually warm and sunny weather, we got in a few weekends there! The sunset were spectacular and it was really quiet. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves.

There was even a sunset proposal below us on the beach. Everyone was watching and cheered when she accepted and the couple seemed stunned that anyone was looking - but they did set it up right below about 20 RV's lol

SUNRISE (not me surfing lol)

How is your winter going? Is spring coming in like a lion or going out like a lamb?

  1. We have Hot, Hotter and Cool here. Right now it's hot in the 80's. Soon to be in the 90's. We had about a week of 70's and Summer is almost here it seems.

  2. I don't mind the rain as much even though we do get quite a lot here in Northern California, but maybe that's because I used to live in Southern California and fret about how little rain we were getting. It is nice to have a break, though and I'm loving the sunny, unseasonably warm weather we've been having right now. Sounds like a nice coastal getaway and it looks beautiful!

    1. I like rain, I don't like PNW winter rain lol It's non stop and gloomy. Like, every single day for months. But it's been SO mild this year. It doesn't bold well for summer drought & fires though.

  3. That sunset was exquisite, and how fun that you got to see a proposal. That is quite a bit of rain though. We are good with precipitation. We had a ton of rain and then a few good snowstorms.

    1. We keep having really big rain storms that dump 4 inches in 2 days and cause flooding/landslides then nothing for the rest of the month. And very little mountain snow, which is our water supply come summer.
My MIL is in NE so I know you guys have had a rough winter.

  4. "Not me surfing" 😂.

I'm glad this winter was merciful (rain notwithstanding) and gave you the chance to enjoy some away weekends. I know how you loathe the cold and dreary PW winters. I hope your "fake it until you make it" plan works! I suppose you're staying on this blog then?

  6. LOL. I love that they had no clue you all were watching. Glad she said yes! I remember how gray it was all the time in the winter out there. We've had a doozy of a winter - first it was VERY VERY cold for us (didn't get above freezing for two months) and then we got so much snow in January and Feb. Luckily it's been above freezing this past week and it's melting. I can't wait for spring and summer. My favorite!

    1. Their friends took at least 2 hours setting up and it was off to the side but it's literally under the the wall for the rv's lol
Our spring is about a month early this year. We're hitting peak cherry blossoms this week.

  7. I'm happy you had a mild winter. We had a pretty mild one here too. In fact, most of my plants even survived outside! With Spring, and the dreaded oak pollen, finally upon us, I've decided to expand my backyard flowerbeds. It's been a ton of work using a shovel to turn up the ground, but I finally gave myself a reprieve and bought a tiller! The results will be amazing!
