I'm Watching...

Lupin S2 Netflix - Season 2 picks up from the season 1 cliffhanger. (French with subtitles)

Lupin stars Omar Sy - brilliant as Assane Diop who is inspired by the literary character, Arsene Lupin - a gentleman thief and master of disguise.

It follows his adventures in S1 - stealing a priceless necklace from the Louvre as revenge against a wealthy man who framed his father tears before.

This show is so clever, actioned packed and twisty with excellent acting and I love it!

If you haven't started this series yet this is a great time to binge both seasons (10 episodes total) as S2 wraps everything up tidily while leaving room for more adventures.

We Are Lady Parts (streaming free on) Peacock - What a hidden gem! This peacock original series is about a British Muslim punk band called Lady Parts.

Amina Hussein, played by Anjana Vasan, is a nerdy biology student, looking for a husband but becomes their unlikely guitarist.

The show is hilarious, sweet, rebellious and heartbreaking at times as it follows Amina and the wonderful cast of characters.

I really hope there's a second season!

Kevin Can F*ck Himself AMC - I haven't watched this yet but I have it on my DVR. Starring Annie Murphy, from Schitt's Creek, in I guess a sitcom within a darker reality. It looks fun and I can't wait to start it! Has anyone watched it yet?

ICYMI - Last weeks I'm watching Sweet Tooth, Raised by Wolves, Hacks, My Octopus Teacher

    1. lo. Yes, it actually has a funny story behind it. There's a series called Kevin Can Wait starring Kevin James and they fired the actress who starred as his wife and they just killed her off out of nowhere and brought in another actress that had played his wife in another series.
So it brought up how disposable these actresses are to these guy driven series.

So this new series is a subversive play on those tropes and a nod to that fiasco lol

    1. I love that show. I feel like no one watches it but it was popular enough to get renewed right away after S1 and will have S3

  8. I loved Lupin! It was one of Netflix's most popular shows. Omar was also excellent in an earlier movie "The Intouchables" (2013).

I liked the first episodes of "Kevin..." The show jumps visually and emotionally from bright sit-com to dark drama and is compelling.

    1. We watched the 2 hour premiere and I got to say - I'm not loving it which shocked me. It's totally my kind of show but I'm not feeling it yet.

I love the premise and some of it but it's on the bubble as to whether I'll want to keep going. I'll try another 1 or 2 episodes.
