Tell Me Something Tuesday

Tell Me Something Tuesday is hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings and discusses a wide range of topics from books to blogging.

Question: Summer picks for 2019

Mind Games by Shana Silver, How the Light Gets In by Katy Upperman,
Wild Savage Stars by Kristina Perez, The Ghost Seekers by Devon Taylor

I’m not really keeping on top of releases these days but I do have a group of summer arc’s sent to me by Macmillan. For those not familiar with their process – you choose between 4 boxes for each season. So you might not be excited about every book in the box – which is the case here - but hey you never know!

The other two – Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig and Ride Prejudice and Other Flavors by Sonali Dev are two that I have and plan on reading soon.

And these are what I have on hold at the library.

What are your summer reading plans?

  1. I never have reading plans.. Except for listening to my arcs. And try all the library books I borrowed.

I hear the Sonali Dev is great 😊

    1. I can't really plan either. These are just the arc's on my shelf but whether I read them or not....who knows??

  2. Hmm I've never seen most those books from the publisher, but some of them sound like they might be SFF and kinda interesting. I hope you enjoy your upcoming books!

    1. They are and really not my thing - which is why they are still there lol But I might give them a go.

  3. I haven't had the chance to draw up my summer reading plan for this month, July and August but I need to get on with it. I'll be picking books already on challenge lists and a few mood reading choices!

    1. This is more ...here's what's on my shelf that comes out in the summer - I'm really bad at planning my reading.

  4. I've had Sky in the Deep on my Kindle forever...maybe I should try the audio!

    1. I have an arc that I never read lol I was thinking audio might force me to at least clear it off my TBR.

  8. I read As Kismet Would Have It on Riveted. It was really short, but I loved it. My library doesn't have the new Dessen yet. I am hoping they get it soon. I am all about her books.

  10. My plans for summer reading are to clear out my Netgalley and read more of the Kitty Norville and Chicagoland Vampires series... But with my reading moods, who actually knows? lol

I'd lose my shizzle if I had a box of random books for review. It's bad enough being in the mood to read/review the books I wanted to read/review!

    1. I don't feel pressured at all by those books.

You get a choice between 4 boxes (they have between 3-5 books) - you can pick one. It's inevitable that you get one or two that you don't want. I usually swap with other bloggers. I've already read the ones I did want.

  11. Death Prefers Blondes sounds like a good read and I've heard The Rest Of The Story is very good. Here's to a summer full of wonderful books.

  12. I have a variety of ARCs that I need to read this summer, but I really do want to focus more on the books I already own; especially the ones that kind of scream "summer reading" to me. LOL

  13. I don't know what it is with this year, but I've been slacking! I'm so far behind on my reading. Not to mention, I have no idea what books are even releasing. LoL I'm a hot mess. :eye roll: I hope you are able to get to all of these this summer.

    1. That was me for the past several months. I'm just now getting back into reading. I rarely look at what's coming out - I wait for y'all or twitter to tell me lol

  14. Looks like you have some interesting books scheduled for summer. I am looking forward to seeing your reviews. Happy reading. Hopefully you can get some reading done outside in the lovely sunny weather. You are going to love summer in Washington.

  16. I don't have reading plans! But I did just pick up a stack of books from the library, so figure they should keep me busy for a while. I just checked and I'm like 14 books away from my goal this year, so either need to pick up the pace or grab shorter books, ha!

These books look like interesting reads! Thank you for sharing your shelf with us :)

  17. This summer I am doing the opposite from light, fluffy summer contemporaries. I am tackling my big, beast of a book books while I have all the time off ^.^

    1. I'm not a seasonal reader either. I do't read short, funny books just because it's summer or whatever.

That actually sounds like a solid plan to tackle those longer books.

  18. Yeah sounds about right. I'll do a new release now and again but not staying too on top of them.
