My Monday Musings

I haven’t read more than a few chapters since I found out we were moving but now I need to kick myself into gear. I’m waaaaay behind on arc’s – even though I don’t have many, they were all for March/April so I need my speed reading powers to activate again.

So here’s what I have managed to unpack and need to read.

I’ve been so out of the loop that I have no idea if any of you have read or reviewed any of these titles. So hot me up with your rec’s – which should I bump to the top? Or which should I give a pass? What new releases (that aren’t pictured) have I missed and should add to my list?

I’m reading Girls With Sharp Sticks now and - although it has a lot of similarities to Young’s The Program  series – I’m enjoying it so far.

GOODREADS LINKS:

The Afterward by E.K Johnston

Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig

The Antidote by Shelley Sackier

The Fever King by Victoria Lee (there are 2 copies in that pic – an arc & finished – oops lol)

What We Buried by Kate A. Boorman

Girls With Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young

  7. The only one I have read is Girls With Sharp Sticks, which I really liked! I haven't read The Program series yet but I really want to so I am actually a little glad it is similar so far? What We Buried is a trippy little book! I want you to read it so we can chat about the ending- plus it is REALLY quick and you probably won't be able to put it down (but the first chapters are a little "meh"- but it does pick up quickly!) I really am curious about The Afterward, so I hope that one is good too! Pretty picture, too!

    1. Ahhh - I just saw your review and that's what's bothering me a little - I read The Program so I can see a lot what's going on ahead of her.

Ok - so that's two votes for What We Buried so I'll dot hat one next.

    1. It's one of the shorter ones too so I might. It's taking me forever to get through this one book though.

I need a reading brain reboot! lol

  12. A finished copy, so lucky! I have a NG copy of The Fever King but haven't gotten to it yet. In my defense, I didn't get it until after the release date I think, so... not my fault lol. But hey, maybe it'll be another book for us to chat about once we've both read it!

  13. I've seen mixed thoughts on Death Prefers Blondes, but I'm still interested in reading it. LOL, at least with the double up on the book, it means the pile isn't as big. :)

I loved his debut novel but the second was 3 star for me.

  16. I know that feeling. I read so much in February and I've read half that in March. I'm also currently reading Girls With Sharp Sticks. So we'll see how that goes. Good luck!

  17. How did you swing two copies of The Fever King? Haha! Only you... ;) I've heard good things about Girls with Sharp Sticks! Didn't you win Death Prefers Blondes on Goodreads? I hope you find some time to read soon! It's good stress relief. ;) Also, Fonzi is his corner is adorable (your Instagram on the sidebar). I love that he prefers the tight squeeze to his bed.
