What to watch!

You’re the Worst
Season 2 – FXX: Wednesday 10:30pm

I loved S1 of this series about two commitment phobic people who attempt a relationship after a hook-up. The supporting cast is great too! The characters are not really likeable in any way but that’s part of it’s charm.

Z Nation
Season 2 – Syfy: Friday 10pm

This show started as Syfy cheesy fun but it’s gotten quite good at adding deeper meaning with a good dose of action and humor to the zombie apocalypse.

Mr. Robot
I talked about this show a little bit when it first started. Now that S1 just concluded and I definitely recommend it if you like a fan of wtf-ery and unreliable narrators.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
CBS: M-F 11:30pm

I feel like I’ve lost my lifeline to sanity with both Jon Stewart AND Colbert leaving their shows. I’m not sure how I’ll feel about this one – I’m not a fan of celebrity interview/variety shows - but I’m going to give it a try.

Wild
HBO

This was a very slow paced movie but it was excellent. Sad but inspirational. It's nice to find a movie about a woman that doesn't revolve a man or finding a man. Loved it.

  1. I had concerns about Colbert. After watching the first two episodes, I feel like it is almost is old show for a full hour. I'm not a fan of the band or the musical guest. I don't stay up late, so I record and watch the next day. I just fast forward through parts I don't want to watch. Overall, I'm glad to have him back.

    1. I dvr'd it too. I watched one episode so far and did the same thing. To me the best parts where when it was most like The Colbert Report and it felt a little long at 1 hr but I'll give it a chance. Thanks to the miracle of fast forwarding I can still have a small dose of Colbert lol

    1. Oh well - it was silly at first but I stuck with it and now I love it. I haven't seen Madam Secretary. it didn't seem like something I would like.

  3. I've been meaning to watch Wild for a while now but some book always gets in the way. I love stories about strong women, though, sad or not. I should find time this weekend.

    1. It was way more intense than I had expected but it's also really hopeful and empowering.

  4. I'm wanting to try Z Nation. I might when I see multiple eps out. :) I am thinking that Colbert is still looking for his late night niche. Hasn't quite got it, but I've enjoyed his political interviews. Direct but polite. So need to see Wild!

    1. You really need to stick with it at first. It starts out as a silly zombie show but gets better. Still silly - but also more intense.

Colbert so far feels like an extended Colbert Report. I don't love the celebrity interviews but I think he'll find his groove. The best stuff is when he's doing what he did on his previous show.

      Wild was really good!

  5. I wanted to watch Mr. Robot, but I'm just too busy to keep up with all the shows I want to watch. I can say I'll watch it on Netflix or something, but idk! I really don't have a lot of time. haha As for Stephen Colbert, I taped his very first episode and need to watch it. I'm not usually awake that late on weeknights, so I'll try and watch what I can. I do love him!

  6. I think I watched a few eps of Z Nation. I liked it more than I thought I would. I miss Jon Stewart too. I need to find his animal sanctuary and ask for a job.

    1. It starts off kind of typical Syfy funny but it gets really good as the cast gels better.

  7. I watch so little tv these days, with two young children it is never quiet and then when it is, I just want to read. I do want to watch Into the Wild since it was filmed and it takes place here in Oregon where I live,
