December reading goals…

December is going to be a month of catch up reading for me. I’ve been posting my TBR pile monthly to try to keep me focused and on track and for the most part did fantastic at hitting my reading goals until I hit September. That was my largest TBR pile and in true Karen fashion I freaked – rebelled - and read only two books.

I did go on novella reading bender though and I can’t seem to stop. I find a quick read far more appealing at the moment but I do have a few books that I was DYING to read and then somehow lost interest but I’m going to focus on them for December and then maybe get back to that September/October/November pile.

December must reads:

(Update: I've read Lay It Down and Mortal Heart/wrote reviews for both. Two more to go!)

2014 Reading Challenge
Karen has completed her goal of reading 170 books in 2014!

I’m REALLY happy about this one. The way my reading slump was going, I wasn’t sure I would make 50 books this year. I started with 90 as my target and kept raising the number as I kept hitting the goal. I think I’ll end up somewhere between 190-200 for the year. Yay! Reading slump OVER.

I certainly didn’t love every book I read this year but that trudging through a book – forcing myself to try to like something - feeling has ended. Whew!

    1. I'm ignoring all the September books and just pulled out the ones I wanted to read the most. Then I'll reassess. Otherwise I get to overwhelmed. lol

    1. I have no idea! I kind of tried not to think about it at all this year because I was in such a slump in 2013. I guess it worked.

    1. Last year was awful for me reading wise so I'm happy I did so good this year.

All my friend have hated Zodiac - that's why I'm passing it on. But we're a picky group! lol

  6. How many more do you need to read? I didn't read for 3 weeks in November but I'm averaging 13-19 books per month.

  7. YAAAY you finished Karen! I'm trying my hardest to meet my reading goal for 2014, I failed for the past two years. ): Just 12 more books to go!

And is that a FINISHED copy of The Winner's Crime??? It's beautiful!

    LOL. Seriously. LOL.

So you finally catched up just before the year was over ;). And even found the time to change your blog design...multiple times. When I come here, I never know what I'm going to find...and it's fun :). I loved all the festive banners, though my favourite so far is the one with the two reindeers incorporated into your blog's name. Did you design the graphics yourself?

    1. I still haven't gotten to that September pile but I only have one book left from the pic above. (The WInner's Crime). I don't really do well with lists and goals for some reason. I feel pressured instead of motivated. Breaking it down to a smaller goal - like 3-4 books seems to work better.

I use picmonkey.com It's a really cool site that's easy to use once you get the hang of it. My bigger problem has been learning blogger sizing and coding so that things fit properly. I think this is the design I'm sticking with but I'll customize it each month for holidays etc.

      Thanks for stopping by!
