I’ve been a very good reader this summer! I’ve read 7 of my BEA books so far, 5 Kindle, 4 older TBR and about 6 review books since the beginning of June. Yay me!
I’ve also made time to watch more movies – something I used to love but set aside for reading/blogging.
We watched End of Watch with Jake Gynenhaal. I loved this movie! I wasn’t quite sure where it was going at times which was fantastic. ( Watch on Netflix)
And yes...I totally watched and loved Sharknado! I love bad SyFy movies and this was the best bad movie of them all! Syfy will be airing it again Thursday at 7pm ET (Best Sharknado clips via Syfy)
Next up is Pitch Perfect because everyone keeps telling me that I need to watch it!
And a fun teaser trailer for How to Train Your Dragon 2 via MovieclipsTRAILERS. There isn’t much about what the actual movie will be about but I’ll take it. I loved the first movie. Too bad it’s not out until June of 2014.
BOOKS!
I bought MORE books but it’s ok. I’ve already read these lol There was a big author signing event in Orlando a few weeks ago called Book Bash and a few of my absolute favorite authors were there.
I met Nyrae Dawn, Katja Millay (& said the most embarrassing thing – which I will not tell you but I will be mortified forever – because I turn into a doofus when talking to strangers) and TAMMARA WEBBER!! I got a singed book from each of them (2 by Nyrae!)
Weekly Wrap- up!
Mini reviews: Caged Warrior & It Had to be YouTune in Tuesday: Said the Whale, Arctic Monkeys, The 1975
Review: Secrets and Lies by jody Keplinger
Around the inter webs!
~ I would like to point you in the direction of this awesome post by author, Tracey Garvis Graves, about trends in publishing and “trend saturation”. It’s like she was inside my head! And of course she articulated it much better than I ever could.
~ One of my favorite bloggers, Felicia from Geeky Bloggers Book Blog, started a Facebook Page called Friends Saving Animals in Need. They’ll be posting about pets needing homes, tips, HEA stories for animals that find there forever home and more.
Happy Sunday!

I love that SyFy goes out of its way to create such awesome cheese! A great station. And, speaking of cheese, Pitch Perfect was really cute and cheesy, too!
ReplyDeleteI watch all those movies and I love them but this was beyond amazing lol
DeleteYEAH! I need to see Sharknado, I LOVE those kinda movies!
ReplyDeleteIf you like them then this is a MUST see!
DeleteI man...Sharkanado, now why do we not have movies like that here`?
ReplyDeleteYou don't? Do you get Syfy?
DeleteI wasn't going to watch Sharknado, but I opened Twitter and the hashtag was everywhere! So I watched the last 25 minutes. That was enough. Awesome, hysterically bad, and so much fun to watch along with the Twitter feed -- but I feel no need to catch the first hour and a half.
ReplyDeleteThe climax -- well, that was priceless. I don't need to see any more!
That scene is epic. If you only got to watch 25 minutes - that was the 25 minutes to see but it was all fantastic.
DeleteYou did miss a few cheesetastic lines lol
I haven't even seen sharknado ...my girls love pitch perfect :) Lucky to meet Tamara
ReplyDeleteDo you like those kinds of movies Julie?
DeleteYes I like the cheesy sci fi movies and also Pitch perfect lol I just haven't watched one in a while.
DeleteI am excited for Outlander #jaime...because its by the same people behind BSG :)
I started Sharknado, but got too tired & had to call it a night. (It's still on my DVR, though) I used to watch more movies & your post makes me think I need to make more time for them again. And I'll just add that I LOVE Pitch Perfect! One of the few movies I own. Happy watching & reading :)
ReplyDeleteKevin and I used to go to the matinee every Tuesday (free popcorn day!) but haven't in years. I'm still trying to catch up on everything.
DeleteYeah, my life's been off balance lately. I'm forcing myself to take some time off & spend time with the kids & hubby. I haven't been able to read a book in one sitting in months, though, which makes me a little sad. But we went to Disneyland & I get to see my extended family next week. I keep yelling at the summer to slow the hell down! Lol
DeleteLOL Sharknado!!
ReplyDeleteI love movies too! i hadn't heard of the jake gyllenhall one, but hey, if he's in it.... :)
That movie is probably too dark for you lol It was really good though.
DeleteI watched Sharkanado on Twitter. Seriously it was fun watching the twitter chat since I don't have cable :) I felt like I was there watching with everyone! It was fantastic!
ReplyDelete:)
I think watching it via twitter was probably more fun that watching it directly lol
DeleteI only found out it was on because of Twitter. Behold it's power!!!
Sharknado was the last thing Cory Monteith tweeted about...strange last words to leave behind. I think it sounds awesome in a really bad way.
ReplyDeletePerfect description!
Delete(And SO sad about Cory)
Love syfy channel movies and I can't wait for How To Train Your Dragon 2 :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. When they have those themed marathons I get sucked in!
DeleteI couldn't agree more that Sharknado was the best bad movie I've ever seen. I kept telling myself to turn it off, but I couldn't stop watching.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Pitch Perfect so much. I hope you enjoy it!
I really need to watch Pitch Perfect, I've heard it's amazingtastic too!
ReplyDeleteOMG, my dad loves all the cheesy movies on SyFy too, he was telling me about Sharknado the other night. LOL I don't get SyFy but some of their movies are just too much LOL
Congratz on all that awesome reading!! I'm looking forward to (hopefully) having a huge reading boom in September and October when my must-review books slow down and I can read all my BEA books! Woohoo! :D
April @ My Shelf Confessions
See? You ARE a reading machine these days. So that was that Sharknado thing everyone kept talking about on Twitter o_O yeah.....no lol
ReplyDeleteI loved Tracey's post too!!! Isn't she awesome? ;) I was clapping at my computer saying THANK YOU! For reading my mind and saying it and....my thoughts exactly!
Pretty books! *virtually pets them*
I love cheesy Syfy movies. I still need to see Pitch Perfect though.
ReplyDeleteI finally DVR'd Pitch Perfect b/c so many people love it. I am still so bummed I didn't see you at BB. But there's always RT14!
ReplyDeleteI love bad SyFy movies, too. :) And I have Pitch Perfect DVR'd because all my friends keep saying I have to watch it. And now I'm dying to know what you said to Katja Millay. I turn into a total spaz around authors, too. :)
