Hop Hop Hop

Happy Hop Day!

I'm just posting a quick Blog Hop / Follow Friday

I have a

BIG

****CHARITY AUCTION****

running for the month of October!

Click HERE for the full schedule

and on the HOME page for the current auction.

Today - you can bid on a signed copy of Instaiable by Meg Cabot plus very pretty swag!

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee : Her question this week is......What is your reading suggestion this week? Scroundrel by Zoe Archer and The Downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane, Paranormalcy by Kiersten White (my review here)

Blog Hop is hosted by Jen Crazy For Books: Her question this week is.....When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title? I almost always finish. If there is even ONE character I'm interested in I must know what happens. There are only two books that I've never finished - which will remain nameless.

I have one more HUGE favor to ask while your hanging around here! If you haven't already, could you please leave a comment on Debut author Swati Avashti's guest post HERE?

She will be donating $1 for every comment to the Family Violence Prevention Fund. I have agreed to match up to $50. I only need SIX more comment to reach that goal!!

Thanks!
And enjoy your TGIF

Leave a link & I'll hop back!

I'll be back to regular scheduled blogging in November.

You can follow me on Twitter - @teamsheltie
and on Goodreads - link on sidebar!

  5. Hey, boo! Again, you astonish me. I can't even remember all the books I've failed to finish reading--they must number nearly as many as the books I HAVE read.

  6. Stopping by from the Hop. I really like the look of your blog, especially the header.

I pretty much always finish a book too. I can count the number of unfinished books on one hand.

  11. Oh... but I want to know the two!!! I'd hate to pick them up!

A book I've never finished? The sequel to Eragon by Christopher Paolini. I suffered through the first one and said, "ah, forget it" when I read the first pages of the second and saw it was a huge recap.

  12. LOL, I applaud you for getting through them. I think for me, it was just to obvious he was a novice writer, and there were just so many cliches in those books (his mentor, the elf chick) that are taken straight from Adult fantasy... I couldn't take it... but what *really* killed it for me was the really long recap at the beginning of the second book. ACK.
I think as he becomes a better writer, I will be willing to pick his work back up again!

I've also put down Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series... it was just the same story over and over and over!

  13. @Heather - I agree. He describes every blade of grass, every cloud.....he creates whole worlds and languages for things that don't mean anything to the story! I don't know why/how I've finished them but now I must know how it ends. lol
I read one of Jordan's bk's and I could tell I wouldn't make it so I quit at that one!
