My WoW picks!

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Here are this weeks picks:

Shade Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
Best. Birthday. Ever. At least, it was supposed to be. With Logan's band playing a critical gig and Aura's plans for an intimate after-party, Aura knows it will be the most memorable night of her boyfriend's life. She never thought it would be his last.
Logan's sudden death leaves Aura devastated. He's gone.
Well, sort of.
Like everyone born after the Shift, Aura can see and hear ghosts. This mysterious ability has always been annoying, and Aura had wanted nothing more than to figure out why the Shift happened so she can undo it. But not with Logan's violet-hued spirit still hanging around. Because dead Logan is almost as real as ever. Almost.
It doesn't help that Aura's new friend Zachary is so understanding--and so very alive. His support means more to Aura than she cares to admit.
As Aura's relationships with the dead and the living grow ever complicated, so do her feelings for Logan and Zachary. Each holds a piece of Aura's heart...and clues to the secret of the Shift. YA (May 4, 2010)

Jeri is one of my all time favorite authors so she could pretty much write chicken scratch on the sidewalk and I would read it! Shade is her first YA book and is getting amazing reviews so I can't wait to read it!

Feed (Newsflesh, Book 1)

                                                                                             Feed by Mira Grant
The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.
NOW, twenty years after the Rising, Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives-the dark conspiracy behind the infected. The truth will out, even if it kills them. (May 1, 2010)

ZOMBIES!! I love the zombies and this one looks good. Already on pre-order. The downside is that I have to fight with the hubby for dibs on the zombie books :-)

What are you waiting to read?

  1. Haven't read any Jeri yet, but I'm interested in Shade. And zombies? I loves me some flesh-eater books, and Feed is definitely on the to-buy list.

  2. Wow! Feed looks good. I am going to have to get that.

Right now, I am waiting to get home and read my copy of Ann Aguirre's Hell Fire.
