For 5 days fans and authors get to attend signings, parties and workshops - interacting with more than 400 or their favorite authors at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown LA. "Authors representing every genre, from historicals to thrillers, romance to paranormal, sci-fi to Christian fiction will be represented. Graphic novels and comic books will also be showcased." A sure to be popular Teen Day is on Saturday, April 9, where they can meet popular YA authors including Melissa Marr, Cassandra Clare, Kelley Armstrong, Ally Carter, Melissa de la Cruz, Alyson Noël and Richelle Mead.
Something that caught my eye were the Reader Panels . Listen to these names...."Sex in the gritty or the ugly truth" (discussing the difference between male and female writers when it comes to sex scenes), "Rebel without a cause: Is a bad boy really right for a good girl?", "Confessions of a romance writer", "He’s A Pirate” Treasure Hunt" and one that looked funny to me - "Purple Prose Taboo" based on the Taboo board game: where authors will challenge participants to come up with new ways to say your favorite ...ahem....purple prose euphemisms. A must for romance readers!
