Friday Fast 5: Tied to Trouble (Gamers #3) by Megan Erickson

Between love and hate, there's a whole lot of trouble…

Chad Lake only showed up at his sister's party for the free food, but when he spots an uptight nerd at the edge of the crowd, he can't resist trying to ruffle the guy's perfect bow tie and impeccable hair. The hottie's ready for him, though, and in the end, it's Chad who's left wide-eyed, his ears still ringing with the filthy things Bow Tie whispered in his ear. No one gets the upper hand on Chad. Ever.

Owen Hawkins has heard all about the cocky Adonis from Chad's sister—the same sister who holds Owen's career advancement in her hands. He has every intention of steering clear of the other man…until Chad's sexy taunts push him too far. There's something intriguing about Chad, and even though Owen knows that getting tangled up with the infuriating man is trouble, he can't seem to stay away… ~

I hate dissecting books I LOOOOVED so I’m giving Tried to Trouble by Megan Erickson the Friday Fast 5 treatment in the form of status updates, quotes and my thoughts. It was my first 5 star read of 2106 so it feels approriate.

***

#1 ~ Tied to Trouble has the BEST, the HOTTEST first encounter ever! And I don’t think they even touched. Woo-boy! *fans self*

#2 ~ Goodreads status update:

#3 ~ *ALL THE FEELS*

“I think I’m wanted a lot but not…wanted.” He drew out the word, eyes pleading for Owen to understand.

Owen gripped Chad’s face, looking directly into his eyes. “For fuck’s sake, Chad, you’re wanted. You’re wanted so badly I’m surprised you aren’t overflowing with it.”

#4 ~ Goodreads status update

#5 ~ My heart….

“Chad, you’re…” Owen waved his hand, searching for words. “You’re light and fun and spontaneous. Shiny things distract you.”

Owen took a step forward. “I wanted to stay shiny for you.”

THUD.

Final rambling thoughts...

I love Megan’s books, but I have to admit this series hasn’t been my favorite, but THIS BOOK…gah! It just has everything I love in my romance. Humor, characters, who at their core, are kind and strive for something better and the hottest, sexiest sex scenes I’ve read in a long time. I read so many sex scenes that I mostly glaze over them now but these were passionate, nerdy, sexy – just all the things! (see why I don’t like writing reviews for books I love???)

The other thing I loved so much about this book was the way Chad and Owen interacted. Chad is by far the more confidant character, cocky even, but Owen stands toe to toe with him at all times and I liked that. It threw Chad off his game but it brought out a much more interesting dynamic between the two and not in the typical cliche ways. Tied to Together isn’t about one guy dominating over the other, or kinks – it was about taking chances, compromising, learning to let other people in, learning how to support but not overwhelm. Real relationship issues – my romance reading catnip!

Yeah…ok – I’ll stop now. I’m still giddy so coherant thought still escapes me lol

  3. Yay, glad to hear you loved this one too. I didn't read the other ones but this ONE was fantastic for sure. I loved that they had real romance issues too - always a good sign because I like passion and the heat, but I also like realism. :)

  4. Okay! I've decided that February 2016 will be all about the romance, and I will read my first MM. Maybe start with this series, or better suggestion? I want it to be really good!

    1. This book would be a good start. It's part of a series (the previous 2 were M/F but this one can stand alone.) I also recommend Erickson's NA series Trust the Focus and Annabeth Albert - Status Update.
