Better Know A Blogger: Jenna - coffee, books, and me

Today's featured Better Know A Blogger is Jenna!

Introduce yourself! My name is Jenna and I’m 20. I’m a recent graduate of BSN (BS in nursing), and I love love reading!

What is the name of your blog? How did you pick your blog’s name? It’s ‘coffee books and me’. Coffee is so addicting (but I’ve learned to control my cravings because it’s not good for my skin! haha), Books are part of me, that’s why I named my blog as it is. :)

How long have you been blogging? I just started blogging this April 2011. :)

How do you measure blogging success? Is it strictly number of followers or something more? For me it’s the interaction that matters. It makes me happy if many people comment on my posts, the many followers is just an addition and exceeds my happiness!

What genres/subgenres do you review, and what do you like best about those genres? I usually read YA books of the PNR genre and chick lits. I like how opposite those two are, so I alternate myself reading them. When I’m so hyped from reading PNRs, I switch to much lighter reads. Sometimes I read the occasional drama novels to release some tears from my system, haha.

Karen: That's how I like to read too. I always try to fit a contemporary or chick lit between my PNR and YA. Sometimes you just need a fun, non angsty read!

What are you reading right now? I’m currently reading “The Iron Knight” by Julie Kagawa. (which I’m really excited to finish!)

Karen: I've never read this series but I really want to try it ever since the YA Crush Tournament when there was so much Team Ash.

Do you use social media to promote your blog or discuss reading/blogging? Yes, I do. I have my goodreads account, and I joined two book bloggers group in FB too! It’s fun to interact with other readers and share what you feel about a book, as well as learn new books (and movies) from them.

Where is your favorite place to read? my room. (i know, i’m boring, lol)

What are your ideal reading conditions? nothing in particular, I guess...

What are the top 5 books in your TBR (To Be read) pile?
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare (i’m so excited for December 6!)
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick (the last one!having mixed emotions..)
Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer (i’m team Ren)
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (Adrian adrian!)
Lost in Time by Melissa dela Cruz (i miss Jack..)

Karen: I see these choices are all boy-centric....lol

Obligatory controversial question: Love triangles! Love ‘em or hate ‘em, and why? I love them! My friend says I rant a lot about it but it’s weird that I still love them! I really hate it when the guy that the girl ends up in the end wasn’t whom I liked (I don’t know buy I usually love the “other guys” if you know what I mean :) )

Karen: Lucky you! I wish I loved them, it would make my reading life SO much easier.

What has been the best thing about blogging and reviewing books? The best thing about reviewing books is being able to express your opinion and feelings about the book. Talking about the characters like they’re real people and being immersed in the stories are the things that readers share most, at least that’s what I think :)

Thank you for stopping by today Jenna! You can read Jenna's latest review for Love Story by Jennifer Echols here.

  1. I have your top 3 series on my tbr pile. :) I just picked up the first two from the Becca Fitzpatrick series, and my daughter keeps pushing me to pick up Clockwork Angel. I'm so far behind with reading. :)

    Wishing you much success, Jenna.
