I always wanted this blog to be about books, music and movies but it has been mostly books since I started. So to remedy that, for this weeks contest I'll be giving away a DVD of Hurt Locker!
I loved this movie and this morning I found out it won the Oscar for Best Director and for Best Picture (deserved in MHO)

To enter tell me what your favorite movie was last year or who you thought should have won this years Oscar for Best Picture. I didn't see many of the movies nominated this year so I was ok with Hurt Locker winning. As for favorite movies.......haven't been a lot of good ones lately (sigh) but I did love Where The Wild Things Are.

Good Luck!

  1. I've seen 3 of the movies nominated this year. The Hurt Locker is not one of them, but it is on my Netflix list.

The best movie I saw in 2009 was Star Trek. I really loved the way they rebooted the series. It was totally clever.

  2. I only saw 2 of the movies on that were nominated this year (Avatar and The Blind Side). Of the 2, my favorite was The Blind Side. It's a great, true story and was beautifully done. Avatar would be a great win as well, but a lot of it is digital, whereas The Blind Side is all acting. :)

And as for my favorite 2009 pick, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince. I don't care if it didn't stick to the book, I'm still a die hard fan! :D

  5. I did not see any of the movies this yr but I thought Blind Side with Sandra Bullock would win the Movie of Yr. I am glad Sandra won Best Actress. You can tell she was not expecting to win and was taken back but made a very gracious thank you. I would also like to see Hurt Locker as I have read some great reviews and I do support the military and their service to our country.

  7. I've never seen The Hurt Locker so I don't know if it deserved to win or not, however, I would have been really excited if The Blind Side, UP or Avatar had won. They were all on my favorites list this year. :0)
